Under the bold heading - Refine Your Results - you make the choice of what Operating System your computer is using, and what category of driver/s you need.
By default Windows XP is shown as a choice of Operating Systems.
The Category box has All in it.
The Dimension 2300 came with Windows XP Home Edition on it.
ALL drivers for the Dimension 2300 desktop computer are shown.
Down below the heading - All Dimension 2300 (53) - is the subheading - Audio (1)
This is the sound driver file.
Left-click on the blue down arrow in the circle, to the left of Audio (1)
(Expands the Audio folder)
The file name is R46202.EXE
(It is for ADI 198x Integrated Audio)
Left-click on Download to the right, in the oblong blue 'button'.
The Download Options window will come up.
You are given two choices.
I recommend the second choice, Download via your internet browser.
Left-click on Download below this heading.
A small window will come up on the right - Opening R46202.EXE
Left-click on Save File at the bottom of this window.
Another small window will come up on the left.
In the wording at the top of this window, tells you where the file will download to.
It may have Desktop, or My Documents, or Downloads in it.
(If the computer you are using has Windows XP on it.
Folder names change a little for Vista, and Windows 7)
Desktop: The audio file ( R46202.EXE ) will be on your desktop screen, next to a yellow folder icon.
My Documents: Left-click on Start, then on My Documents.
Downloads: Left-click on Start, then on My Documents. DOUBLE-click on Downloads.
When you see the file name DOUBLE-click right on it.
The Installation Wizard will come up. Follow the easy instructions.
(Essentially just click on Next, Next, and Finish at the bottom of the windows)
Once the audio file is installed, close all windows, go back to your desktop screen.
Now restart your computer.
Make sure you have your sound turned all the way up in Windows.(And not on Mute)
Go down to the system tray at the bottom of your desktop screen, (Where the clock usually is), and left-click on the speaker icon.
Give it a couple of seconds, and a Volume slider will come up on your screen. Make sure the slider is slid all the way to the top. Now left-click on an empty area of your desktop screen to close the Volume slider.
{To move the Slider (Small rectangle on the vertical line), left-click on the Slider, and hold the left mouse button down. Now move your mouse away from you }
{Don't see a speaker icon? It may be that your Volume icon, (Speaker icon) is hidden. Left-click on the side arrow, and show all icons}
