Before calling a repairman, check the pump strainer to see if it is clogged or has coins or a sock blocking it. The pump strainer is behind the lower front panel. The front panel comes off by removing the three torx (star type) screws located underneath the panel. The pump strainer cover is white and about 3" in diameter and unscrews by hand. I have a Whirlpool Duet (steam model, built in 2007). Getting the ever common "sud" and "F35" error. Done all the typical research. Took top and bottom off. Everything clear. Have not taken back off and looked at the actual "air trap". But, I can blow throw the black tube that connects to the pressure sensor switch. All research seems to point to the notion/belief that my sensor is bad.

Outside the normal analog pressure sensor (APS) / hose checks...

Another cause for the F35 and SUD error could be your CCU (control unit). There are components that seem to fail over time and cause the F35 and SUD errors. You can replace those components yourself now...

See f35 error for more information.

I hope this helps and let me know if you have any more questions.

Replaced the $109 pressure switch for my Kenmore he3t, and sorry to report here is no change with the new pressure switch. I ran the diagnostic and it makes it through the C:00 test fine and then throws a F35 error before it gets to the C:01 test. I don't know if I'm going to have to end up building this thing part by part.

Hello.

The F35 alert code on your Whirlpool washing machine indicates a problem with the drainage system. This could be an easy fix, or it could require a complete replacement of the water discharge pump. Before you can determine how to correct the issue, you must complete the troubleshooting process.

Thanks.

SOURCE: Whirlpool duet front load washer flashes F35 shortly after start

Sud= The unit has sensed there is too many suds in the unit it will flush and pump out for 5 min and restart on its own..This is caused by too much soap use..
From the book :
SUD Code=
If too much detergent was used:
—Run the unit through a Rinse/Spin cycle.
—Run a Normal cycle without adding any detergent.
This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged
or kinked.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check wire harness connections to the drain pump,
pressure switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU).
4. Check/clean drain pump filter of foreign objects.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. Check drain pump.
7. Check the pressure switch.
8. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any
cycle.

What does error F35 mean?

It helps to have FULL make and model in such questions, but here are a few ideas

The F35 error code indicates an analog pressure sensor error. The analog pressure sensor is the component that detects water level in the washer tub. This error can usually be cleared but it will occur again if the main control board still detects a problem with the signal from the analog pressure sensor.

Suds then f35 Whirlpool Duet 4.0 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Steam Washer - White

F35 is a water level error.
The water level switch (pressure switch) has malfunctioned.

If you remove the top panel, three screws in the back, you will have access to the pressure switch.

With the tub empty, remove the vinyl hose from the switch and blow backwards through the hose to clear any restrictions.

If the fault codes return after doing this, you will likely need to replace the pressure switch.

Also - please be sure to use He soap.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.

Whirlpool Duet -Sud displays and washer stops

I;ve had the same problem (SUD on first fill) and found this most helpful for my WFW9600TW01 Duet washer

http://www.tellingmachine.com/post/Fixing-Sud-and-F35-errors-on-my-Whirlpool-WFW9600TW01-Washer.aspx

I duplicated his actions and it cleared up my SUD/F35 error. I think running the diagnostic test multiple times flushes the sensors/sensing lines to eliminate the problem.
