RESET ELECTROLUX 1590

I assume you're referring to the 1590 Aerus Electrolux Central vacuum? if so,and you're sure it's not a "breaker" issue at your breaker box and the reset doesn't work, chances are either the relay board inside needs replaced or more often, the motor itself if it's over 15 yrs. old. This is normal for motor replacement. I do replace them for my customers. Hope that helps!

Electrolux 1590 not turning on

TRY JUMPING THE CENTRAL VAC INLET WIRES AT WALL! IF COMES ON SOMETHING IS MISSING ON HOSE TO WALL CONNECTION. MOST HAVE A METAL RING TO ACTIVATE THE INLET DOOR WHEN HOSE IS CONNECTED.

I have two Electrolux Central Vacs. One is not working. Is there a reset button

If this is a CENTRALUX metal bodied 1590 series vac vac there is a reset breaker on the side of the motor housing of the vac. Depending on the age of the vac there is also a filter lockout switch . If you are using a cartridge filter and it is misaligned and drops down the switch will shut the vac off to prevent motor damage. Check those two items. The internal filter must be fully inserted so its twist lock/washer device can rotate holding it up in place. Then take a pair of insulated pliers and short across the low voltage terminals where the wiring system enters the top of the vac . If the vac starts, it is fine. If not your problem lies in the motor , the relay or the filter lockout switch.
If you have a plastic bodied Electrolux, a recent model the test procedure is the same but there is not the same lockout for the filter

Next test the nearest inlet in the house. If it fails to start you have a break in your internal wiring, possibly at a connection or a an inlet which may have a loose wire connection behind the wall. Post back with your results and if you have more questions. If so post the model #

I need a new motor for my electrolux 1590 machine. What is the difference between a 2 stage & a 3 stage motor?

If you haven't got the new motor, the three stage has more suction. The 1590 CV had the three stage motor untin they changed to the two stage not long ago. You can get either one for your unit. The two stage should be a little less expensive.
