Hi, sadly that part is not available separately and Technics would have you buy a complete tonearm. I have damaged tonearms in stock from replacement jobs and would be happy to send you a bearing and bush from one of those. Contact me at Styluscity.com. Cheers John.
Hi,
Assuming the the turntable is on a level platform and that you have "adjusted the weight and anti skating correctly", might it not be just the styli/cartridge that's left in question?
Visually check the styli/cartridge assembly, look for unevenness of wear on the needle itself, compare with a known good styli the angle.
On some rare instances, it is the shielded wire inside the arm.
Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things are or should you need further information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Hi, most likely a worn stylus or the tracking weight is set too lightly. Adjust the balance weight at the back end of tonearm forward slightly. If no weight adjustment available put a very small coin on the end of tonearm above the stylus. [email protected]
turn the whole weight until arm sits just above platter.hold back of weight and turn front disc to zero. turn whole weight to spec for cartidge fitted, usually around 2.
No, you should not need to install extra weights. Adjust the tomearm counterweight (on the back of the tonearm).
Install new cartridge.
Set tracking force dial to zero.
Adjust counter weight so tonearm floats vertically. This is the balance point.
Dial in tracking force, 1 to 3 grams.
If you cannot achieve balance point then you may have to add weight between the cartridge and the cartridge mount
That is correct, your tonearm needs to be replaced.
By adjusting that top screw on the tonearm, you only made the problem worse. It's very hard to realign that screw, as those are machine calibrated, and once tampered with, almost impossible to get back to exact factory settings. We recommend replacement of the entire Technics tonearm.
the prestige gold might be a little bit of overkill for this turntable meaning the turntable is middle of the road and the cartridge is hi-end.
To get a closer match for your TT try a yahoo search for "AT3482P-DE" (with the quotes) and the result will be the closest match to what this turntable is designed for. also you can find your TT's owner manual here http://www.vinylengine.com/library/technics/sl-bd22d.shtml but you will have to register to download the free manual. in that manual you will find the shape of the drawings for the cartridge is the same. both made by audio technica
