Upon booting up or trying to enter program I get the following error message:
"Error:204 System ID 5
Failed to read from [Timeslips program]
The file was not created to use with this function".
Try opening the program, then on the program do you have the option to import? If yes then import it, then save it as another filename, If not, click on the file and then open, after that on the file name type *.* this will open all files on the folder you have saved the files from the previous timeslips, then open the files. This is like Microsoft word 2007 vs microsoft 2003, the file names are different.
You can the company chat team about the error , please use this link to chat :

Good luck...
Hi is what software (os) are you using?
Is this software on you PC or interrated in the POS
Or are you on the Palm BlackBerry
This the Error that I no that I have seen
You will still need to give the OS
This could be Windows and the TimeLine softeware (Error is System ID 5)
Just check these too
if not please be more specific about OS
204 error points to a TCP port problem. It
means that the initial socket connection between the Terminal Server and
the client could not be established.
Thank YouYou might have a protocol problem on
the client computer, particularly with Windows for Workgroups 3.11 clients. Be sure you are using the TCP/IP-32B version from the Clients sub directory
on the Terminal Server CD. For Windows 95 or Windows NT Clients, try
reinstalling the TCP/IP protocol. you could have a protocol problem
on the Terminal Server. Reboot the server and then, if this doesn't resolve
the problem, reinstall the TCP/IP protocol on the server.

You can save the Files on the back up software on your PCÂ
Select the files to back ....Please note TimeLines does have
a internal software backup utility . This is your safestÂ
way to back up. If you uninstall the Software and you do not follow
the Sage (TimeLine) instruction Utility for back Up data you couldÂ
lose your Data/Employees info etc.....TimeLine has a Help feature
that will guide you step by step the Back Up procedures.
Thank You

You will need to reinstall the programme as it's become corrupt, the boot up error will be because you have it set to run at system start up.
You could try a system restore to an earlier date to see if it corrects itself, as it may be a registry fault.
Hey,
attempt to reinstall your programs and let us know how that goes.
backup any important files you may have relating to the program. Open up add or remove programs from the control panel, uninstall the program. Then reinstall the program from cd or other media you have it on.
optionally restore you backups if needed.
i don't have a code, we don't have codes here and also giving out product codes is agains the copyright law.
you will have to contact the maker of the software for the code, their support.
ok, place your backed up files into the same place they where at, make sure your program settings are also correct to use those files.

one more question, please. If I uninstall and reinstall timeslips, how do I save my data in that program?
I need to reinstall timeslips because it has become corrupted. I saved the data file to my desktop but otherwise have no backup. is there a way I can do this while preserving the client data?
I guess my question comes down to: (1) by uninstalling do I lose the client data and (2) by simply copying the file from my hard drive "Data 04" to my desktop, have i sufficiently protected myself?
I have uninstalled Timeslips but am unable to reinstall because although I have the installation code for the 2008 upgrade, I do NOT have the installation code for Timeslips 2006. Please give me a code so I can reinstall! Thanks.
