one more question, please. If I uninstall and reinstall timeslips, how do I save my data in that program?

  • markie9882 Sep 16, 2008

I need to reinstall timeslips because it has become corrupted. I saved the data file to my desktop but otherwise have no backup. is there a way I can do this while preserving the client data?

  • markie9882 Sep 16, 2008

I guess my question comes down to: (1) by uninstalling do I lose the client data and (2) by simply copying the file from my hard drive "Data 04" to my desktop, have i sufficiently protected myself?

  • markie9882 Sep 17, 2008

I have uninstalled Timeslips but am unable to reinstall because although I have the installation code for the 2008 upgrade, I do NOT have the installation code for Timeslips 2006. Please give me a code so I can reinstall! Thanks.

  • markie9882 Sep 17, 2008

Try opening the program, then on the program do you have the option to import? If yes then import it, then save it as another filename, If not, click on the file and then open, after that on the file name type *.* this will open all files on the folder you have saved the files from the previous timeslips, then open the files. This is like Microsoft word 2007 vs microsoft 2003, the file names are different.

This the Error that I no that I have seen
You will still need to give the OS
This could be Windows and the TimeLine softeware (Error is System ID 5)
    Just check these too
if not please be more specific about OS

204 error points to a TCP port problem. It
means that the initial socket connection between the Terminal Server and
the client could not be established.

You might have a protocol problem on
the client computer, particularly with Windows for Workgroups 3.11 clients.

Be sure you are using the TCP/IP-32B version from the Clients sub directory
        on the Terminal Server CD.

For Windows 95 or Windows NT Clients, try
        reinstalling the TCP/IP protocol.

you could have a protocol problem
on the Terminal Server. Reboot the server and then, if this doesn't resolve
the problem, reinstall the TCP/IP protocol on the server.
    Thank You
    Jayson

You can save the Files on the back up software on your PC

Select the files to back ....Please note TimeLines does have

a internal software backup utility . This is your safest

way to back up. If you uninstall the Software and you do not follow

the Sage (TimeLine) instruction Utility for back Up data you could

lose your Data/Employees info etc.....TimeLine has a Help feature

that will guide you step by step the Back Up procedures.

    Thank You

    Jayson

You will need to reinstall the programme as it's become corrupt, the boot up error will be because you have it set to run at system start up.

You could try a system restore to an earlier date to see if it corrects itself, as it may be a registry fault.

backup any important files you may have relating to the program. Open up add or remove programs from the control panel, uninstall the program. Then reinstall the program from cd or other media you have it on.

optionally restore you backups if needed.

i don't have a code, we don't have codes here and also giving out product codes is agains the copyright law.

  • Ekse Sep 17, 2008

you will have to contact the maker of the software for the code, their support.

  • Ekse Sep 17, 2008

ok, place your backed up files into the same place they where at, make sure your program settings are also correct to use those files.

The error message says fatal system error.

Hi. The STOP 0xC000021A error occurs when either Winlogon.exe or Csrss.exe fails. When the Windows NT kernel detects that either of these processes has stopped, it stops the system and raises the STOP 0xC000021A error. This error may have several causes. Among them are the following:
  • Mismatched system files have been installed.
  • A Service Pack installation has failed.
  • A backup program that is used to restore a hard disk did not correctly restore files that may have been in use.
  • An incompatible third-party program has been installed.
Booting the computer to its Last known good configuration will resolved the issue. Please see procedure below:

Turn of the computer
Keep on tapping F8 key the moment you press the power button
You should be getting a advanced boot screen
Select Last known good configuration from the selections then hit enter
Computer should be booting up by now to windows

All the best!
