Many flavors of this video card from various manufacturers have different configurations - most important is the auxiliary power connector that appears on the edge of many of these cards. If your ATI has such a connector, it must be connected to the PSU. The MoBo bus can not supply the required power via traces on the board. If connected and it doesn't work - it may be a power supply problem.

While your 500 Watt power supply unit (PSU) is more than the 400 Watt minimum requirement, but depending on its efficiency and your system configuration, may still be on the "weak" side. Your particular PSU is not a certified type. ATI recommends using certified PSU's on this list. You could probably get away without using one of those expensive PSU if you got one with a little more "umpph" to it, say a 600 watt or more rated type. The 500 watts unit you currently have may be "just a little too close" with your PC's configuration.

I hope this helps & good luck!

Trouble with install second video card HD 5450 to emachines t6532

Unclear of your statement. (More like run-on sentence)

Problem heading statement reads,
"trouble with install second video card HD5450 TO eMachines T6532"

Need clarification

The eMachines T6532 Desktop PC uses an MSI MS-7207 motherboard.
Also known as the MSI K8NGM2-L,

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/K8NGM2-FID--IL--L.html

(Click on photo for a better image)

Has one long white PCI Express x16 slot. (Expansion Slot)
Only uses one graphics card at a time, will Not use two.

[Graphics card / Video card. Same/same]

Therefore I surmise you are not referring to adding a Second graphics card, but are referring to;

A) This is the second time you have added a graphics card.

Or,

B) This is the second ATI Radeon HD5450 graphics card.
Had one before. Removed it, and are using a new one.

Or,

C) This is the second time you have added a graphics card.
It is not an ATI Radeon HD5450 like the old one is.

Know this;
1) You can ONLY use the OnBoard (Integrated) graphics,
OR the graphics card.
You CANNOT use both.

When using a graphics card the monitor is plugged into it.
You cannot plug into the onboard graphics of the motherboard, with it installed in the computer.

Said differently;
With the graphics card physically installed in the computer, you cannot just unplug the monitor from the graphics card; and plug it into the OnBoard graphics of the motherboard.

[Also; Computer on, you CANNOT unplug a monitor, and plug it back in.
This = NO ]

2) Driver: Small piece of software that allows the Operating System to communicate with a device.

The device is the graphics card.
The version of Windows operating system was not stated.

Did you install the software from the Installation Disk? (CD/DVD)
Has the drivers on it, and the user interface software.
User interface software for an ATI graphics card, is Catalyst Control Center.

(Just to note; I'm using a Powercolor Radeon HD5450 graphics card, right now.
I'm using dual monitors.

HP 2009M - 20 inch widescreen LCD monitor, and an RCA L26HD31 HDTV as the main monitor. (26 inch HDTV)
They work GREAT! ]

(It is an ATI Radeon HD5450 graphics card just like yours, IF yours has 1GB of graphics memory.

Doesn't matter what graphics card manufacturer, makes that HD5450, it is still an ATI (AMD) design.

Powercolor, VisionTek, Sapphire, Diamond Multimedia, Mickey Mouse, or Goofy. It is still an ATI graphics card )

The ATI Radeon HD5450 graphics card, has to have a MINIMUM power requirement of 350 Watts.
Does your power supply have 350 Watts or more?

If it is the original power supply, the answer is NO.

Back then power supply manufacturers were 'fudging' the true maximum rated wattage.
Why?

Sold more power supplies.

Power supply rated at 250 Watts?
Nope.
More like 60 to 70 percent of that.

Divide 250 by 10.
= 25.
Take that times 6. = 150 Watts (60 percent)
Times 7 = 175 Watts (70 percent)

Would like your opening statements clarified.

Will an ati radeon 9250se graphic card be compatible in an emachine d2244 computer? there are two empty pci slots on the motherboard above the one that has the phone and modem conections. i have upgraded...

Hello,

I am presuming you have XP on your computer.

According to ATI, this graphics board should work fine in a spare PCI slot.

Install in the top PCI slot as your CMOS detects top to bottom.
XP should detect the ATI board and will ask for drivers.
Install your CD drivers and or software as needed.

If you have VIsta or Windows 7, it does not appear ATI supports them for drivers.

Good Luck

My asus m2n32-sli motherboard won't start up; runs for 4 seconds then shuts off. currently hooked up to the mobo: have a 500W power supply; AMD 3300 64 processor; zalman cpu fan; 2 patriot 2GB DDR2...

The only thing i can suggest is remove one of your RAM sticks and see if the machine will boot. I had this problem with mine and it turned out that one of my RAM slots was faulty and would not boot if both RAM slots had RAM in them.

My HP M7260n doesn't recognize my new Video Card...

You might need to uninstall the old video card device, so Windows does not use the old drivers for the new card.
Another option is to try and boot in Safe Mode (press F8 during startup), so Windows uses the VGA mode (which all video cards support), and then install the proper driver.
Installing the latest ATI driver updates might also not be a bad step.
