Hi all my problem is after 20 minutes the screens goes blue ps3 shuts down seems like overheating

1. Allow your PS3 to cool down. Overheating is known to cause the red blinking lights and the yellow light of death. Turn off your console for at least 20 minutes before turning it back on.

2. Check for a connection problem (loose cable) with your hard drive. If not, restart your PS3. You can also unplug all cables except the power cord and re-plug them back.

3. Lastly, reset the hard drive by taking it out and putting it back in.

( I would power off the console and use a keyboard duster to spray in one of the vent holes, this overheating issue could be caused by excess dust. Is it in an open area with good air flow?

First the Reason for Yellow Light

If the hard-drive fails on the PS3 you may get a solid yellow led, The yellow light will show if the console is overheating as well, but the console shuts down so you don't it for long.


1)Turn off your playstation 3. If you think your ps3 has been caught by the heat, then wait at least 20 minutes and put it back on again

2) Check if there's any loose cable.

3) Try to put out your playstation's hard-drive, and put it back in. You might want to repeat this 2-3 times for better results.

If this did not work, then it is suggested to send your PS3 for repairs to Sony Customer Support

try to change the source, that should solve the problem. But before try reset CMOS. (if you don`t know how to do it by jumper simple remove the battery from the mainboard for 5 minutes and then plug it back on..and after that turn on your computer and press F1 for default settings)

if there's pixilation problems only after 10-20 minutes, i'd say the gpu is overheating.

Now the real problem is if the gpu has been damaged due to the overheating and whats causing it to overheat in the first place.

The heatsinks on the ps3's are crazy so i'd push more towards the gpu failing, but it could be just a simple overheat problem.

They sell external fans for the ps3 that connect to an external power source. Try purchasing one of those, it will run you 30 bucks.

If it continues after that i'd push more towards the gpu's been damaged and your going to need service on it.

your system is overheating, clean the vents with a vacume so you **** the dust out, dont use a can of air, this will just push the air inside the unit and make matters worse in time. also you can buy intercoolers for the ps3 this would help you from overheating. (the system shuts off to preserve its self)

it is turning off? if no, then no overheating.
fans will be on while you're playing, it's normal.

check the game position and place, there are something blocking the air?
leave some space around to allow the ps3 to "breath".

yes, this must be a problem with your blu-ray reader . did you try to run another bluray disc game ?

you should try:

• restoring system settings
• reinstalling possible game files.
• look for possible game updates
• reinstalling sony firmware (re-update via USB)

if nothing of this works, you should take the system to a support centre for verify possible hardware damage .

hi..Seems like your Power Supply went dead or either a faulty button.. Since those are touch pads those sometimes wear out. Another issue could be due to overheating..

well .... try to install a coolermod in your system...

maybe overheat problem can freeze and you need to shut down your system...

need to power up the rpm of your coller...more ventilation to control overheat..this is coolermod!
