You are right on the money. Had an extended warranty on LG from Best Buy and repairman was here this AM. Loose connection at thermistor. working fine again. You guys are a Godsend to many people... Thanks so much!
SOURCE: Error code SE on LG washing machine means what?
It probably means System Error. Have you tried a simple reset. Pull the machine away from the wall carefully, make sure you do not have wet hands or feet, etc and unplug it from the wall. Leave it unplugged for 20 minutes. (Also check to see if it is plugged into an outlet with a little red button on it? is the button pushed in? It should be? ) After the wait, plug the washer back in and see what you have. I hope this helps.

That would be a tE (thermister error). The thermister is located right next to or, on some models, is part of the heating element. It is nearly impossible to replace without taking the front off the washer. It is located right at the front of the outer wash tub. (just below the gray rubber door gasket)

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
That's 'te' standing for temperature error/ heating error. Before you call an engineer try emptying the washer then pouring a couple of kettles of boiling water into the drum and leaving for 30 minutes then see. Another thing is to empty a couple of packets of limescale remover into the drum together with a couple of kettles of boiling water (again!) and leaving overnight. It possibly needs de-scaling anyway ;-0) If these fail it will be an engineer call, sorry ;-0(
Good luck, John C
