The serial number is just a numerical reference of when it was made. The Model number is the import part.

Kenmore dryer will run for approximately five minutes. It then stops and throws a CLL SRU error code. I have researched this to mean "Call for Service". I have seen others potential causes that range from shorted heating element, to dirty lint screen/venting.

send the model number,open the door and look around the opening where you put the clothes in,you'll see a tag with model and serial number,just need model number.

Check the lint caught in the exhaust vents. If it is clear replace the spark ignitor if no click is hear upon starting up

check lint screen some have a lint switch that prevents dryer to come on with excess lint on screen . But more than likely you have a blown thermal fuse on the blower housing. Caused by poor air flow vent hose restricted or not cleaning lint screen often enough.

thermal fuse is behind blower housing on models w/lint screen in door and on the back of the dryer on lint screen on top models.

If the dryer is less than a year old the lint screen should be covered by warranty I would replace the lint screen to see if that helps.

you can get the parts at sears.com. the model should start with a 110. if the strip went down the vent it probably lodged in the blower jamming it.

When you say you vacumed the lint area, did you mean the lint catcher underneath where the lint screen sits? The most effective way is to remove the 2 1/4" screws on the bottom of the lower front panel. Once you have the panel down and off, you will see a lint chute (the part under the lint screen). Remove the lint screen, 2 more 1/4" screws towards the top of the lint chute on either side and a 1/4 screw on the bottom by the black clip and youcan remove it for best cleaning and also any possible build up around your blower wheel (the white looking fan underneath the lint chute) Can you run it sucessfully without the hose attached? It could indicate a problem between where the hose enters the wall and exits to the outside of the building. (it will get very hot, humid and a little linty doing this test, but it would eliminate any kind of blockage with the venting). When you washed you lint screen did you scrub it? I usually use soap water and an old tooth brush as you can actually get a clear coating on the screen without even being able to see it. How do your seals look? (put your head in the dryer drum and you will see a grey ring both in the rear and as you look back towards yourself) Are they dammaged? Have you cleaned your moisture sensors? This can cause a false error. While you have your head in the drum and are looking back towards the front, you should see 2 silver bars. Clean them off with the abrasive side of a sponge or a fine grit sand paper. If it is still malfuntioning, drop me a note back with your model and serial numbers (loacted just inside as you open the door) and I will see what else I can come up with.
