Calcif - means calcification detected. Calcification is calcium build up left in the machine that needs to cleaned off before it damages it. It looks like white build up that sticks to the sides of the unit and it can become hard & flaky.

There are many products that work to clean out your machine. Some people use white vinegar and let it brew in the machine the same way you would coffee to clean it out. Many places sell products to clean coffee machines like office supply stores or grocery stores. I can't think of one in specific to reccomend to you to clean your machine. I would suggest referring to your manual to see if it lists one in specific so that you do not void your warranty.

My Bernini 830 would not recognize the embroidery attachment. I re-attached many times, but it doesn't work.

I assume you mean a Bernina 830. If you have removed the slide-on table, I have two possible solutions. I've seen this with a couple of Viking embroidery attachment units. (I am also assuming it's not a hoop issue.)

You could have corrosion on the pins that send the signals between the embroidery attachment and the sewing machine. Remove the embroidery attachment and turn off the sewing machine. Unplug the sewing machine. Spray the pins with an electronic contact cleaner; one example is here: http://www.homedepot.com/p/CRC-QD-11-oz-Contact-Cleaner-02130-6/202262505 . Push the embroidery attachment into the sewing machine by lifting up the far side and then sliding it into the port. Remove the embroidery attachment. Repeat this a few times. (The friction of the insertion and removal will remove any dirt or corrosion.) Plug in the sewing machine and turn it on. Try connecting the embroidery attachment. If it works, remember to clean the contacts the next time the embroidery attachment isn't recognized.

Once I helped someone with two sewing/embroidery machines with an unrecognized embroidery attachment. In that case, the person swapped which embroidery unit went with which machine. The contacts were not the same and didn't mate. Once the correct machine and embroidery unit were paired, the embroidery unit was recognized instantly.

I hope this helps. If it doesn't, you may need to talk to your Bernina repair technician at your local shop.

My lily's 1800 heater only heats for about 3 minutes and shuts off. any suggsstions?

If the unit has an adjustable thermostat, it may have failed.
If not, then a device meant to prevent fire, a thermal switch, which should only trip if the internal temperature rises to an unsafe level has failed. This latter part is often responsible for failure of drip coffee machines; the Chinese are still learning how to make some things.

Since the unit seems to have electronic controls, either a temperature-sensing device called a 'thermistor' or the controls circuit board monitoring this device has failed.

Unfortunately, since this kind of appliance comes primarily from China, service and parts can be tough to find,

Singer sewing machine

I'm not sure what you're asking. If you're asking how you can replace the spool pin that is on the machine, you don't need to. Just put your spool in the back of the machine, away from the sewing area on the right, and put it in a coffee cup or Mason jar, and feed the thread from there. Many owners of embroidery machines--which are just sewing machines with an embroidery unit attached--routinely do that--it tends to feed more evenly that way.

My Bernina 180 marchine becomes warm on the work service (the lower part on the right side of the pressure feet) and also on the top of the machine. Could it be the motor?

Dont think it would be the motor the moter is on the right side below the handwheel, you can see the vent.
Could it just be the light bulb, they get very hot.
The motor on that machine is solid, never had a bad one.
When you say warm do you meen HOT, there is going to be heat generated from the motor, light and movent that goes on it there this is normal.

My coffe maker will not pump any water through. It started slow and did the vinegar and water thing .. now nothing!

Feel the base where the pot sits if it is not Very Hot to the touch the heating element is bad, be careful not to burn your hand, the base heater on the machine performs a dual function it keeps the coffee hot and also boils and pumps the water through the machine, if it is hot the element is ok proceed to run a 50 % water 50% vinegar mitxure through 3 times to flush out sediment, make sure you run straight water through the unit afterwards three times to clear out any residual vinegar left in the machine
