How do I check panel for tripped breakers?
Plug in socket is good. Electric socket is good.
Panel is black. When I push button every few seconds I get some weak flickering of letters, but indecernable.
When operating properly, machine does not unlatch door when interrupted mid-cycle until "stop" is pushed twice... obviously have no response from dead panel.
Latch is in front middle of top loading door.
Have tried to open with putty knife....no luck.
Would appreciate any other ideas.
Thank you for previous input. Not sure the number I gave for model is correct

Check the panel for triped breakers - check the plug for the washer - the door latch usually release itself after fewhe latch minutes- if nothing works try to force lid open with a thin screwdriver from the side were the door latch is
ok I researched your washer model and I got another solution-according to the similar product manual to unlock the door manually you have to press and hold Cancel/Press for 3 seconds-the door will unlock after 1 minute. let me know if it worked.on the other hand there are many many unhappy customers around with the same model-most of the times is main controller electronic board malfunctioning and that means that you should call a technician. It is probably the lock assembly itself that is bad. I just replaced mine, a 20 minute job. You should be able to reset the machine and unlock the lock by using a series of turns on the knob after re-plugging it in. check onYou tube for the exact model of your washer. Don't try to remove the control panel assy. the top of the washer should lift up if you slide a thin painters trowel in the front to release the clips and then push the top toward the back about half an inch and then pull forward while lifting.
Disconnect power supply. Remove top panel.
Now is door lock accessible. Open door, remove door gasket from housing (not from tub), remove two screws and replace door lock.
The F02 error code on a Whirlpool washer indicates that the control detects a long drain time. This can be caused by excessive suds in the tub, a restriction or clog in the drain system or by a number of other component failures. If the Whirlpool washer did not drain, check for excessive suds in the tub. After the suds dissipate, you can normally run a rinse/drain and spin cycle. Causes for excessive suds include not using HE (High Efficiency) detergent or using too much detergent (even if it is HE type). If the washer will not drain and you do not detect excessive suds, you could have a clog in the drain system. Check the drain hose and the washer drain. You may need to manually unlock the washer door and then pull the large item filter on the pump to check for a clog. To manually unlock the washer door, Always saftey unplug the washer ,to disconnect electrical power and remove the bottom front service panel as shown in the top of the image below. Carefully reach up along the inside of the front panel and pull down on the tab that is under the door lock mechanism until it clicks. This will unlock the washer door. Open the door and manually drain the water out of the washer with a wet/dry shop vacuum. Once the washer is drained, arrange some towels to catch residual water that will drain out and remove the large item filter as shown in the image below. Check for a clog or restriction that could be preventing the washer from draining properly. If you find no clog or restriction in the drain system, you may have a bad drain pump that needs to be replaced. A problem with the electronic control board could also prevent the washer from draining. If the washer is draining properly but you are getting this code, you likely have a problem with the water level pressure switch or the control board.

The
F21 error code indicates a long drain time on this type of washer. The
door will not unlock if the washer control detects that water is still
in the tub. To manually unlock the washer door, take these steps: - Unplug the washer to completely disconnect electrical power. - Remove the bottom front service panel as shown in the first image below. - Carefully reach up through the bottom opening and pull the release
tab on the bottom of the door lock assembly until it clicks.
NOTE:
Internal metal edges in the washer can be sharp. Protective gloves are
recommended for this procedure.
By pulling the manual release tab on the door lock assembly, you should be able to get the washer door open.
After
opening the door and removing the clothes, I recommend emptying any
remaining water in the tub with a wet/dry vacuum (or bail it out). Since
you already have the bottom front service panel off and the washer
unplugged, you can arrange shallow pans and towels to catch any
remaining water and pull the large item filter out of the drain pump
assembly as shown in the second image below. You may find a clog in this
area that is preventing your washer from draining properly. Clear any
clog or debris from this area and reassemble the washer. Check your
drain hose for a kink or clog. Check the washer house drain for a clog
or restriction. Test the washer to see if it will drain properly.
Other issues that can cause this problem include: - Not using HE (High Efficiency) detergent - Using too much regular or HE detergent
These
issues can cause oversudsing in the washer. The drain pump will not
able to pump out suds. Make sure that you are only using the appropriate
amount of HE detergent in the washer. If you have a water softener, you
may need as little as a tablespoon of HE detergent.
If you need
more help, resubmit your question with additional details and the full
model number of your HE2 washer or check other tips in THIS LINK.

Saturate an old cloth with white vinegar. Alternatively, you might use petroleum jelly on the cloth to remove the mold.Pull the gasket out gently with your hands to reveal the mold and mildew buildup inside the folds of the gasket.Wipe the mold away from the gasket with the cloth. Continue working to wipe away all mold from the folds of the rubber gasket.Dry the folds of the gasket with a dry cloth when you finish removing the mold.Repeat this procedure at least once per month to prevent mold and mildew from forming. If you notice mold occurring more frequently, clean it off when you see it.
Tips for Preventing Mold & Smelly Problems:
Always leave the door and dispenser unit slightly ajar after the laundry is done. Front-load washers and the detergent/softener dispenser drawer must dry out.
Never leave a wet washload in the washer overnight; remove it when the washing cycle is complete and leave the door open.
After a load is done, always rotate the drum with your hand to see and remove all items. Some could be sticking to top or sides of the washer drum.
Use softener sheets in the dryer instead of liquid softeners in the washer.
Liquid detergents may leave less residue than powdered formulas which may not dissolve properly.
Use less than the recommended detergent level for your load. Too much detergent can cause a residue build up. Experiment until you find a minimum measurement that delivers a clean wash. This is also a money saver.
Occasionally wash some loads such as whites, linen and towels in warm or hot water to help flush out wash residue.
Always clean your washer as per your product manual. High efficiency front-load models have a cleaning cycle and it's imperative that you periodically run this cycle as directed.
Check the gasket just inside the door opening and remove any visible debris. You can also wipe it to speed the drying process.
Always use HE detergents with high efficiency front-load washers. Specially marked HE laundry detergent is low sudsing and is recommended for these low-water washers.

Run an empty load and as soon as water has filled and the washer begins to run, open the washer door (probably have to pause the washer via the control panel) and add 3 - 4 cap fulls of regular bleach. If you don't have regular bleach, you can try vinegar. After cycle completes, open washer and wipe the entire gasket with an old towel.
When washer is not in use, prop the door open so the inside can fully dry.
Please report back here with the results and if you are still having problems, we can take the next steps if needed.
You are speaking the truth there , the really sad part is all brand front load washers will have mold/mildew build up due to the rubber boot seals they all use , the only way of fixing this is soaking and scrubbing with bleach which is not a fun job to do.
until they can figure out how to get all the water out after use we will have to deal with mildew.
top load washers use gravity to drain most water out so they dont have this problem.

Lets start by pulling the plug on this machine and while your back there notice where the three screws are holding the console to the machine and remove them until the top comes off noticing how it latches front to back and the screws secure it. Now you will see on the right hand side a grey box, look for a white plug top side left with only two wires sitting by itself and unplug it. Then plug the machine back in and you should still have no power. Next the cable with blue wires connecting the console to the grey box needs to be unplugged. Now we will test that grey box as it supplies your console. The test is as this unplug power, unplug console( blue wires ) then the next step is to plug the white plug with the thick dual black wires in. You should hear it cycle through all the valves, door lock and bump the tub. If this works and after you plug in the console and no power, guess what? Need to replace the console. Ps the plug with the grey sheath by the console blue wires is your door lock:) Write back if you need any help.
