Spray the inside of the pot with cooking spray and then let the rice soak in the water for about 10 minutes before starting the cooking process. This should eliminate or at least minimize the sticky rice problem.
The rice will stick if there's not the right amount of water added.
The rice cooker should have numbers marked on the side of the pot. Those number correspond to the amount of water to be added for a given amount of rice. For instance, if you add 4 cups of rice, add water until it reaches the 4 mark.

I am using long grain rice? Maybve that is the problem? If I use the one cup mark in the plastic cup and fill the water line to one on the inside of the metal bowl--Its not cooked when it says its done--some one suggested to fill the water line to 1 cup before I wash and ad the rice to the cooker? Its better but the cooker spits water all over the counter (seems like it s too much water? but the rice is better but maybe a little to soggy??Someone suggested I add butter and it helped stop the rice from sticking so badly???
