Start by trying to drain the power from the laptop. To do this, unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery. Next, hold the power button down for 30 seconds. Then plug your battery & AC adapter back in and try to power on the laptop. If the problem persists, try turning it on with the battery removed. You can also try carefully removing the memory from the laptop (located in a covered compartment on the bottom of the laptop that is usually user-accessible with a screwdriver) to see if it will stay on longer than a second. You can also check to see if your laptop is still under warranty here:

HOW TO SWITCH ON WIFI ON MY MECER XPRESSION W251EU LAPTOP

For most Windows laptops, the wifi can be turned on or off down on the right-hand corner of the Taskbar (bottom of the screen). However, many laptops also have a little switch on the edge of the actual computer. Generally it will slide left or right to turn it on or off. Look on the front edge first and then the sides, and lastly the back edge to see if something like this is on yours.

Can not turn on my wireless swith

you may wanna try this:

To turn your wireless back on: Click on the internet icon at the bottom right corner of your taskbar. Open "Network and Sharing Center". Click "Manage Network Connections" on top right of the Network and Sharing Center Right-click on your wireless network and then click "Diagnose" If your wireless is off, it should give you the option to turn it back on. This is different than the other "diagnose" functions where it simply tells you to turn it back on because this one actually turns your wireless back on for you. You should then see the orange flashing light on your keyboard and your wireless should be back up and running again.

or

- remove the battery and charger (everything connected to the pc) then press the power button for 1 minute..
- plug back in the charger
- after few secs try to turn it on and boot it normally

hope this helps :D

Laptop turns on and the monitor only turns on for a second.

Hello,

you need to open the laptop and check the screen, it is possible that the flex or screen inverter that connects the screen to the laptop motherboard has shifted or has loosed contact or is not firm to its right position.

All you need to do is to open the laptop, if the flex is removed, fix it back to its right position and that's all.

Also, do a general troubleshooting on the screen and the problem should be solved.

Good luck.

My hp Pavillion dv6000 looks like it wants to turn on but turns itself back off after a min or two. It does this process over and over without turning on.

Unplug AC & battery. Then, unplug the cell battery right at the memory compartment (wait for at least 10 min).
Plug everything back in. Laptop should be back to normal.

It works for me.

Laptop turns off randomly

Is it getting very hot on the bottom?
You could try using some canned or compressed air to blow out some dust. Also laptop cooling pads work great.

I have purchased a wireless router and cannot find the icon on my laptop

Hi,

In some Toshiba laptop, there is a small switch at the right hand side. If I remember right, it is a small blue button. It's pretty small. Alternately, some versions have it in front/right side.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FIXYA.
