My EPSON Stylus Photo 1400 Ink Jet Printer is printing blank photos. The ink levels are fine, it's feeding photo paper fine, it's making the same noise as it does when it prints but the photos are coming out blank. The green power light is flasing. Help!

How do you clean the inkjet contacts on an Epson stylus photo 1400 series...

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

both the paper/ink buttons blinking in red simultaneously means fatal error. Use AP for figure the latest fatal error code. Btw, i have Service manual for 1400. Contact me at aicaxz(at)yahoo(dot)com

Ink leakage can occur if the bulk ink reservoirs are at a level above the printer. Let the two in the same level.
This can also occur because of quality of paper or ink.

I read another epson thread somewhere and it said this:

"All you need to do is run the printer a few times with no paper. While it's "printing", use a soft cloth (I used a monitor cleaning cloth) and your index finger to clean the rubber wheel that pulls the paper through. The wheel is on the right side in the area where you feed the paper.

After hours of struggling with this tonight, it is now working perfectly. Guess I'm going to have to invest in a stash of monitor cloths..."

red paper light is blinked as it is indication that plz insert paper in your printer, and ink light blinks because your printer is low on ink, kindly get your printer cartage refilled.

Problem with paper feeder. Replace paper feeder or replace just pick up rubber at paper feeder mechanics. You can add thickness of rubber by adding black double tape (flexible) (about 1mm).

If you're using compatible ink cartridges, then the driver may have updated itself over the web and made the chips you're using in the fake cartridges become devoid. I'd suggest trying original cartridges, or getting a CIS with an original cartridge piggybacking the ink tanks.

If you're using original carts (and fake ones exist that LOOK like originals) I'd call Epson.
