Hi, my Plantronics CS70 earpiece only stays connected for about 2 secs and then shuts off. The battery is fully charged and the earpiece is properly synced with the base. Any ideas? Thanks, Jeff

It sounds like it may have an incorrect setting for the phone. This is the 1-4 in the side of your base. The number that configures to your phone should be listed at the 3:00 o'clock position. Most phones are used on 1. Here is a link to the User's Guide, that may help. The only other thing is it sounds like the battery is not really charging, which means that it is a non-replaceable battery. In that case, you would have to buy a new headset.

No sound when coming from the headset

Check the compatibility setting on the left side of the Plantronics CS70 base, number "1" should be in the 3 O'clock position. Also check the cable connections, unplug and re-plug the cables. If the headset is dead, then the internal battery may be worn out and it may need to be replaced. The headset replacement model is 72910-01. Below is a link for the user guide to help with the compatibility settings and adjustments, as well as a link to the newer Plantronics headset that replaced the CS70.

If the CS70 headset has a charge and beeps when you press the call control button, you may just need to re-pair or re-subscribe the headset to the base unit. Here is a link for the pairing / subscription instructions:

If the headset is not charging, the internal battery may be worn out and the headset may need to be replaced (the battery is hard wired and is not replaceable). The replacement headset is model 72910-01. Below is a link where you can purchase the replacement headset.

Have new headset, why is the base unit keep beeping at me

Here is an explanation of the beeps you are hearing:

• One beep every 10 seconds is caused by a low battery
warning. Recharge battery by returning it to the base charge
cradle for one to three hours until charge light stays lit or
quits blinking.
• Two beeps is an out of range warning. Move closer to the base.
• Three rapid beeps every 30 seconds indicates your mute is
on. Press the mute button once to turn mute off.
• When an optional lifter is connected, three repetitive beeps
indicate a call is coming into the headset. Press the call
control button on the headset to answer the call.

I Have a Plantronics CS70 and it is not charging correctly or holding a charge. What can I do?

The battery is probably dying, if this is an old unit. Unfortunately the battery in the headset is not replaceable, but you can buy a replacement headset to work with the base unit. Here is a link where you can buy the replacement headset:

How do I sync my replacement ear piece

When joining (or pairing) a Plantronics bluetooth headset to another device a lot depends on the other device. Assuming that you know the necessary steps of your phone, PC or other device for connecting a bluetooth device, all Plantronics headsets pretty much follow a set pairing procedure for connectivity. This one is for the Discovery 975:

1 Turn on the Bluetooth feature on your phone.
2 Turn the earpiece on. Press and hold the call control button until the indicator flashes red/white.
3 Use the commands on your other device to locate and select your earpiece. 9xx Plantronics.
4 If prompted for the PIN code or Passkey, enter 0000.

Pairing is successful when the indicator on your earpiece flashes white.

Note If your phone supports Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), you will not need to enter a PIN code or Passkey.

We had to order a new headset (ear piece) to our CS70 system. Do we need to program it? It is not picking up the handset.

To pair another headset to the same base, you must first enable the multi-shift
pairing feature. Long press (5 sec.) the speaking volume minor adjust up button on
back of base until the power indicator light flashes.
2. Place a charged headset in charging cradle and red indicator light on base will flash
for 2 seconds if the multi-shift pairing feature is enabled. Within 10 seconds of
doing so, press either the "+" or "-" listening volume button for 3 seconds until the
headset talk indicator lights to indicate pairing mode, and goes out after successful
pairing. Repeat steps

Plantronics cs70 nc stop working

Make sure that the power is connected to the headset.  You can tell it's connected because there will be a red solid light on the left side of the front of the charging base.  Check the power cord for any frays and make sure it's plugged into the wall.  If it is, then try the following:
A system reset:
1.  Lift the headset off of the base. 2.  Make sure the headset is turned off.  The green light will not be on on the base. 3.  Hold down the minus button at the same time as the call answer button on the headset.  Hold them down for at least 10 seconds.  An orange light on the headset will flash several times.  It should go off when you let go of the buttons.  If the orange light stays solid, push the minus button once. 4.  Put the headset back in the charging cradle.  Leave it for 30 seconds.  Lift it back out of the cradle and try using it again.
