**** the hinge to the broil position. Put a nail or something so the hinge won't pop back in the door when you go to put it back. Once ya have it back in the stove, remove the nail and close the door.

I have an electric whirlpool range model RF368LXPQ. The stove and oven quit working but the clock still works. The day after it quit working I tried it again and a burner started to work. Once turned off it...

Maybe unplug your power cord from the wall and check the connections on the range. Ranges do not come with power cords attached on them. The installer has to put the cord on, maybe they didn't get the connections tight. While you have the cord unplugged it may be a good idea to check the power at you outlet in the wall and make sure you have 220 volts on it. You will need a volt meter to do this, be real careful not to touch the probes while checking this. Please rate my answer so I get points for it.

Replacing a door switch on a whirlpool microwave

On most over the range models (you didn't mention your model number) you can access the door switches for testing after removing the grille and control panel assembly.

It would likely be the primary door switch, but that varies by model.

Also, on some models, this is caused by a blown TCO / thermal cutout / thermostat on the magnetron.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

You can also find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

Microwave oven will not start after I put in the time. It says open and close door and press start. Still won't start

Probably a bad door switch or mount. The door switch help file is here.

On some models though (you didn't mention yours) the door circuit is very complicated, and may be showing the door error due to a blown fuse or cavity TCO.

Accessing the cavity TCO for testing and possible replacement will require you to remove the oven from the wall.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download Whirlpool owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

I have a Whirlpool Electric Range GY399LXUS. The oven will not turn on. The top burners work, the only button that works on the keypad is the warm button.

I am an Appliance Technician...... and you need a new clock/ECM The part where the clock is & the oven controls... under there is a big circut board that is basicaly the motherboard for your oven. And I'm sorry to inform you that I just used your model number to look up the board and it is NO LONGER AVAILABLE.... that means they just don't make that part for your oven anymore. Whirlpool didn't use that design very long because they didn't sell well, they were expensive to produce, and they had a few too many problems out of em. So BAD NEWS is they don't make the part you need to fix your oven....GOOD NEWS is you get to go shopping for a Range!!! And BUY WHIRLPOOL!!!!!! DO NOT BUY LG,SAMSUNG, GE, FRIGIDAIRE, OR ELECTROLUX!!!!

Microwave display "door" even when

That would normally be door switch trouble and our text file on door switches is very helpful.

You didn't mention your model number, but some Whirlpool models are pretty complicated (overdesigned, in my opinion), and door alerts can be caused by a number of components.

Refer to the tech sheet inside your unit, a representative portion of which is shown below.

I removed the range door to clean oven. Now I

NOTE: The door removal pins you inserted must still

be in both sides of the door.

1.
Grasp the door on the sides with your fingers on

the front of the door and your thumbs on the

inside surface.

2.
Rest the hinge hanger so that it is flat (at the

bottom of the hinge hanger on the bottom of the

front frame slot).

3.
Position the door with the hinge hanger slots

almost parallel to the front frame.

4.
Push up and in until the hinge hanger slots

become fastened to the range. Lower the door

and rotate it slightly from the front to the back

until the slots are fully fastened. The hinge

hanger will be close to the bottom of the front

frame slot.

5.
Pull door open about halfway and remove the

door removal pins. Save door removal pins for

future use.

6.
Close the door.

Can't put oven door back on

Hinge has a small hole in it. Lay door flat on rug. Take a pair of channel locks and tension hinge past hole. Put a screw in hole to hold it open. Then put door on product. Remove screws. Thanks, please leave feedback or contact me again for more info if you need it.

Whirlpool electrice stove storage drawer

There is a screw in the bottom of the two back corners that holds the drawer glide in place. Remove the glide and then you'll be able put it back the way it belongs.
