As I was using my Dimage Z2, the batteries got exhausted and the camera went off. Later, when I fully recharged the batteries and put them back in the camera, it simply couldn't turn on - I've tried 3 different battery sets and the problem still remained. The camera has never been dropped. Any suggestions ? - the repair costs offered by Sony is simply too expensive for me to afford.
Well, I also bought the DiMAGE Z2, and my problem was similar: It worked for some time, but then it started freezing sometimes, not responding to any button I pressed. One time, it froze, shut off, and I wasn't able to power it up again. In short, the camera was still under its warranty, so I gave it to their lab and they fixed the problem.

My camera is no longer under maintenance, and that's the problem. Don't know if I can find an independent camera repair service in Singapore that can offer a cheaper price - or find a way to repair this myself.
Can't turn camera on and batteries are good.
Got same problem here. After a couple of month in the shelf I took the Z2 and go for a holiday. Noticed that the accu are draining in 2-3 day compare to weeks before. Strange enough the flash is not synchronizing with the picture anymore. Is a micropocessor issue and repair costs 2-300 euros. So I kiss my Z2 goodbye! and bought a Canon.
I have exactly same problem. I was using my Z2 without any problem for last 4 years. As I was using my Dimage Z2, the batteries got exhausted and the camera went off. Later, when I fully recharged the batteries and put them back in the camera, it simply couldn't turn on - I've tried 2 different battery sets and the problem still remained. The camera has never been dropped. Any suggestions ?
