I have an Office Jet Pro HP 8500. The feeder copies and scans have a bold vertical line running through them from top of the page to the bottom. I disconnected the printer so that the printer heads would clean themselves, but this did not work. I cleaned the thin glass plat of the scanner, but no good. I opened the top of the printer and cleaned what surfaces I could find, but this did not work either. I am stumped and see no mark anywhere that would cause this. Any suggestions.RIG

If you have done all the cleaning up to your ability than I would say that your approach is fine. What need to be done now is to open different parts of the printer and get it cleaned. In the tech language this is called "servicing a printer".

HP OFFICEJET PRO 8500. BLACK LINE WHEN SCANNING FROM FEEDER, AND COPYING FROM FEEDER, BUT NOT FROM THE GLASS. fROM INSPECTION, ITS A METAL WIRE THAT IS HOLDING A FEW CORDS INSIDE THATS CAUSING IT

This may be dot of dirt on the class that looks like a horizontal line when the feeder moves, to solve it, try this link from hp site: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01619149&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3752459 it its something within the glass which you can not clean, contact the hp's repair or replacement options if it is still in warranty.

HP Officejet Pro 8500 Printer does not print the last line

Try uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it by going to HP's web page. Before doing so, defragment your C drive.

Brother MFC-7820N Printer--vertical lines

You need to clean the scanner glass. Also known as the strip glass. It is a 1 inch wide strip of glass that runs from the front to the back. Your documents pass over this glass when they are scanned. Some of the wax crayon probably smeared off onto the glass and now when you scan the scanner sees these marks as stationary and thus records them as solid lines. Just look into the scanner section where your documents are fed in or depending on model, some are just to the left of the large original glass.
Good Luck and thank you for using Fixya.

HP Officejet Pro 8500 - issue scan & copy

while the printer is on take a damp cloth and wipe the scanner glass and then open the automatic document feeder and clean the scanner glass there and then remove the cartridges and close down the printer now just pull out the power cable from the back of the product and if possible and the walljack wait for 30 secs and replug the printer first to the walljack and then to the printer, now try to scan....(if your printer is wireless then after the above you will have to run the wireless setup wizard again).if that doesn't work, try the same above but just before plugging the printer cable press and hold the power button,if that doesn't work do the same holding the #3 buttons,if this doesn't work then do the same holding down the #6 buttons,if even this doesn't work then call in to hp at 1800-474-6836 and get a replacement
