I have a mode #e59138 AT&T phone system. All three headsets have a ring tone when turned on, but cannnot answer when call is incomming or dial out. This happened all of a sudden, after there was no electricity for 4 days. We were able to answer the calls but sound was faint. Then all we get is a dial tone no matter what buttons we use.

Registering Handsets to the Base
Whichever handset you choose to charge in the base is automatically
registered to the base. Any additional handsets must also be registered to
the base before you can use them.
Be sure both handsets are fully charged.
One at a time, place each handset in the base. The charge/in use LED on
the base begins to flash, indicating the base is registering the handset.
Wait for at least five seconds, then pick up the handset and press
[talk/flash]. If the display shows TALK, the handset is registered. If not,
place the handset in the base to try again.
Press [end] and continue with the next handset.
Note:
Once both handsets are registered, it doesn’t matter which
handset is placed in the base or the charger.
When you charge the handsets, Caller
ID summary screen and the name of
the handset appears.

SOURCE: No dial tone

It seems you can receive the calls and dial the numbers, by clicking hand free key you will hear the tone. Regarding answering machine I wonder you activate it or not for activating the machine just click the On/Off key on the base or from the main menu on the hand set choose Voice Mail section then activate Answering Machine, in this section you have other options such as Ring Delay (for choosing the delay before Ans.Mach. pick up the phone), Announcements (playing and recording announcements) and Massage Length. SOURCE: When phone is plugged in it will ring constintly

You need to assign an extension number to the set before it will stop the "reminder" ringing.

SOURCE: Had a bad electrical storm.

The damage is not to the phone line it is to the phones. Unfortunately this is very common with powered phones as they are almost never kept on surge protectors and are very fragile. You will need to purchase a new base station to use with existing phones.

I have a KX-T7130 phone system with intercom. for the last 4 weeks, every phone will ring once and then the call gets hung up before I can answer it. I can use every phone to call out, but just can't...

Most likely NOT your phone system (anonymous)

Neither is it likely accidental...

What it sounds like you are getting is a "ring splash"

It is a token ring to let you know a call was forwarded...

My best suggestion would be to call YOUR OWN
number and find out who has been getting your call...

Or at least what kind of TREATMENT your callers have been getting...

Since this is a GLOBAL SITE... I would suggest you consult
your service PROVIDER.. for the appropriate enable & cancel CALL FORWARDING.

BELL-SYSTEM Codes to invoke and cancel

Codes: *72 and *73: respectively

Forward... *72 = ("star, seven, two")

*72 (wait a second dial tone) dial tone + (forward number)...
If the call is answered the FORWARD is complete...
(confirmation)

Else
Repeat the SAME dialing PROCESS
(OK: indicated by two stutter dial tones followed by dial tone).
((confirmation)).

Cancel FORWARD...
*73: To CANCEL forwarding... *73 = ("star, seven, three")

(again OK... Success is indicated by two stutter dial tones followed by dial tone (yet another confirmation))...

Hope this helps...

This is used to set up the different ways of incoming call prompts in various situations. Use
the up/down key to choose this option and click the left functional key to enter. There are
many modes of setting available and the default setting is the general mode.
To switch to a new user profile, use the direction key to select the target mode and click
“OK” to enter. Then select “activate” and click “OK” to confirm. Your phone will give an

No dial tone

Sounds like you may have a problem with the one handset. Check to see if there is a volume control that you can turn up louder. It may only work while you have the phone in the talk mode. If that doesn't solve the problem then it sounds like the handset is bad. You may also want to plug a headset into the bad phone to see if it will work that way. Providing of course that the handset has a jack to accept a headset. Good luck.

Dial tone

I disconnected the RadioShack phone/answering machine and plugged in an old phone. At first I didn't get a dial tone, but in a minute or so, I did get one. I doublechecked the connection with the incoming phone jack. (I had checked this before, but didn't see anything wrong.) Again, I didn't see anything wrong, but maybe that did it. Also, when I disconnected the RadioShack from the incoming phone jack, I disconnected from my computer (I used to have dial-up connection).

Don't know which of my actions worked, but now I have dial tone on Radio Shack.

H350 HEADSET

you may have the earpiece volume too low, because you will only recieve a bleep when there is an incoming call, not a ringing tone, or just set it to auto answer in the phone settings.
