Do you know how to unlock sonyericsson 580i hi i just bought the sony ericsson w580i fromm a friend and when i put my sim card it says incorrect sim card..i guess its unlocked an i tried de branding it and it didn't work..is there a code or do i have to pay 40 to this random guy in the mall to unlock it..

UNLOCKING SONY ERICSSON WALKMAN 580i
First need to find the IMEI for your phone. Power on phone and type *#06# this will display the IMEI. You will need the IMEI to get the corresponding unlock code. Every phone has a different unlock code. Then call your provider and request the unlock code.

Press the left Arrow (<) button

Press the star (*) button twice

Press the left Arrow (<) button

- display will indicate "ME Lock"

- wait approximately 3 seconds

- the display will indicate "Network" and a picture of a closed lock

Press Yes

- the display will indicate "Unlock?"

Press Yes

- the display will indicate "Enter NCK"

Enter the SIM Unlock code

Press Yes

The handset will display "Network" and a picture of an open lock for three seconds and will then revert to the main display.

The handset is then successfully unlocked.
