My dehumidifier just started not producing water. It has a hose hooked to it so it can drain all the time. It will turn on and the motor speed will raise and lower continually. The filter was cleaned and there is plenty of air flow through the top of the unit. What is causing the erratic fan speed?

I HAVE AIDYLIS DEHUMIDIFIER#0526011 THAT WHEN HOOKED UP WITH A FLOOR DRAIN STILL LETS WATER GO DOWN INTO THE CATCH BUCKET AND NOT COMPLEATLY OUT THE DRAIN

id ck the drain hose connection for build up of fouling material , the symptom you describe usually occurs when the hose cant drain all the water the machine makes

a wet/dry vac is perfect for this (set to wet) and some even allow you to turn airflow around to blow air as well , this is perfect to clear a stopped up hose (point end into bucket)

Direct drain

2 possibilities: #1The port that you plugged the hose onto need to be drilled so the water can come out and enter the hose. #2 The hose cannot be higher at ANY point than the bucket. Physics rules apply and the water will always fill the lowest point. Keep the hose low or raise the dehumidifier up.

Hose connected but not draining and bucket filling

I am also an air conditioning tech, with same problem and same soleus dehumidifier problem. you must remove the plug and install the drain line hose adapter. Hose must lay flat and have no "hills" for water to drain. With this done pull your drain pan out and set aside. look under right side facing the dehumidifier and you will see a small spout. Has a lip like a little tea pot. Plug that spout. I used a foam ear plug used in work shops. Now give the front of dehumidifier a slight rise on front wheels about the thickness of a pies of cardboard 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch. Now put drain pan back in an start up. The problem is the drain pan was made with very little differance in pitch between the the hose drain and the bucket drain. Remember to check your drain hose periodically and the air filter also. Good luck

Where to hook up drain hose

On the bucket there should be a cap. If you remove it your hose can attach to it. Run the hose top a drain. If possible, raise the dehumidifier so the water drains properly. From time to time, pour a little bit of bleach into the hose to keep mold away.

I have a Maytag M7DH65B2A. I hooked up a hose to

Had the same problem. Make sure you tighten the house a little with pliers. Also, make sure the dehumidifier is up a lot higher than where you're draining it into. Mine drains into a utility sink. But I have the dehumidifier propped up onto a dresser. I cut a small piece of hose to run into the sink. Seems to be working now.

It will take 5 min or so to establish a water flow, so be patient after you hook everything up. Good luck.

Dehumdifier won't drain

You just need to get the water flowing and start the siphoning process by taking out the water bucket while it's full of water and raising it up high enough to start the water flowing. Once the water starts flowing, you can put the bucket back and the water will keep flowing (by capillary action). If the bucket empties completely, you may have to do it again periodically to get the water flowing again.
