I have a Sony Vaio PCG-4L1L laptop that I just recently updated to Windows 7. My webcam "cannot be found" when I try to pull it up. I was told by a friend to download a drive but I cannot find one. Can anyone help me get my webcam working, please?

I have a VAIO PCG-71C11L laptop. Previously it was fine well. My home has no internet access. So I sometimes brought it to my office and check and update necessary patches via Live Update. Then I took it back to my home. But since last 3 months ago, I tried to connect the internet, I was surprised that No WiFi in my vaio laptop. Then I test again it with cable. Surprised again that there was No Connection. So I check in the Network and Sharing Center, there is no connection and no network adaptor. So I check in the Device Manager and I found that there is no NIC Card. Moreover Webcam in that vaio does not work and even not in Device Manager.
So is here anyone who know what is going on in my VAIO? What wrong in my laptop? How can I do? Those devices are hidden or damanged? Why dont they working anymore?
Please give me any solution..appreciate your response.
I want to update my graphics drivers on Sony Vaio PCG-61813m. This model update is not available on Sony Support website. Any idea what should I do. Since I installed Windows 7 Ultimate my graphics is rubbish.
You can download a linux live CD/DVD and burn a copy, insert it in the computer and restart it to allow it to boot on the live CD/DVD and access the hard drive through linux. This is assuming there is no encryption or other security means in place. Congratulation for user of Sony VAIO VGN-FZ11M model: PCG-381M laptop because now they can install windows 7 professional 32bit and use webcam. Sony official website doesn't provide the drivers for windows 7 but if you install VISA drivers, it will work fine except webcam (as might be you knew). But you don't worry and download webcam drivers from this link and install it:- http://www.4shared.com/file/suPq7WFc/SODCAM-12842500-US.html or http://www.megaupload.com/?d=T8EFFQYQ
you shouldn't need to have to press f9 to boot from cd rom if you have it set in the bios as the first boot device , are you sure the copy of windows on cd that you have is bootable. Try booting from the disc on another laptop or pc and see if you can start it
once you have booted to usb you should be able to access the cd rom
depending on what version of windows you are trying to install you will need to run different programs.
you could also install vista or windows 7 to usb drive and install it from that, it is much quicker than installing from cd/dvd you would need to be able to boot from usb to start with though
how to install vista or windows 7 from usb instructions can be found here
First verify if the Windows 7 Operating System is compatible with your computer model from the sony support page for your compauter. Check the list of compatible operating system and if the drivers are available.
If the Windows 7 Operating System installed is supported then, install the Sony Shared library, Sony Notebook Utilities and VAIO event Service Update if available.
This should resolve the issue.
However, if the issue persists and the Windows 7 Operating system is not supported by the computer, the only resort will be to perfom recovery and install the windows Vista Operating System that was shipped by the manufacturer.
Have you tried to update the driver software either by Sony's website or going into Windows/Mac Driver update facility?
If it continues not to work it is clearly a Hardware failure and you may need to get it replaced. Depending on where you live visit somewhere who deal with laptops and get a quote on how much it will cost for you to get it repaired. (alternatively if you are still under guarantee just send it back to Sony)
