Canon i350 printer waste ink tray full.

There is a green and an orange light flashing alternately on the printer. according to the users guide this indicates that the waste ink container if full, but does not say how to empty it. can you help.

According to cannon the Waste ink ABORBER not tank is getting full. To clear this error press resume and print button. But this will only fix your problem if at all for a short time as this is not considered user replaceable part. You can contact canon on line at http://consumer.usa.canon.com Good luck

Hi there
Ok take care how you do this.
There no easy way the printers are been made this way so you take them to the shop, but if you are handy with your hands and know what you are doing then you will need to take all apart and take out the ink pads inside the printer and clean them up make sure they nice dry when put back in, then you are going to need a program that you can find on the internet it will be called waste reset tools, or your printer will not work even after you done the clean out.

I am not sure what canon you have so I cant tell you the tools you need for yours, i have got canon MP-Tools on my website if this is the one you need.
with this you can reset the waste ink tank before you do the clean out but remember in time you will need to clean out or it going to be a big mess of ink coming out your printer.

Issue: Alarm / Power light flashes orange 8 times consecutively (Waste Ink Nearly Full Error)
Solution: Press the <RESUME/CANCEL> button to clear the error (1700)

Waste ink absorber error 1700 The printer has a built-in waste ink absorber to hold the ink used during print head cleaning. Eight flashes indicates that this absorber is nearly full.

Press the <RESUME/CANCEL> button on the printer to clear the error, so you can continue the print job. The printer will need to be serviced as soon as possible.

The POWER Lamp Flashes Orange Eight flashes: Waste ink tank almost full
The printer has a built-in waste ink tank for the ink used during print head cleaning. Eight flashes indicates that the waste ink tank is nearly full. Press the RESUME/CANCEL button to cancel the error so you can continue printing. Before the waste ink tank becomes completely full, contact a Canon service representative.

Note
Canon recommends that you call for service as soon as this error occurs. Once the waste ink tank becomes completely full, printing will no longer be possible.
