It is possible the drivers are missing or corrupt and need to be reinstalled. You can do this via the internet or use the disc that came with the computer.

The maximum ram you can put is 256mb. Your machine comes with two memory slots. You have take whatever that is in the memory slots and replace them with 2 pieces of 128mb module. Each module will cost around $13.

Yes you may need to update or install the modem drivers, also be sure your Ip address is activated. The easiest way to tell is to click on run. Type ipconfig then enter it will will show you your address info if they are blank or zeroes then leave the screen go to run, type ipconfig /release then Enter, this should renew your ip address, Hope this helps.

Your operating system cannot be found.That is why it asking for a boot disk. Could be interface cable loose connection or its power supply. Have it check and reseat.

Or harddrive is already dead.

Okay, sounds like your BIOS upgrade went south. First off, re-install the original BIOS. Usually you back up the original before upgrading. Either that, or d/l the original BIOS from emachines.com. Once you've got the BIOS working, try starting the system. I'll need to know more to help you from there.
