Hi, i have some problems with my ML-2010R, it doesn't respond to anything from the computer. when i press ON it makes the usual noises,eating and preparing for printing , but when i try to send a file to print it doesn't respond

Try to use a new USB cable maybe the problem is on the cable this transfers the data from your PC to the Printer this is a common issue for printers. Or update your printer driver.

Yes, you can make a self print test from the printer even if the printer is not connected to the computer. This means that the unit is in good working condition. Possibly your printer doesn't communicate with your computer. try this, hit start key>control panel>fax and printers>select your printer>right click to properties>click ports tab>check if the port is matched to the port you are using.also, make sure it is your default printer.
Please check your printer if you need to change the ink.
Turn the power off, and remove the power outlet, then install it back turn the power on, make sure you can view your printer from your pc or laptop, then try to test print.
