1. Check the seal all the way around the freezer do this by taking a piece of computer paper and trying to slide it in to the seal. It should not go in to the seal. If this is tight your problem is not with the seal.

2. Ensure that you are shutting the freezer door properly everytime. 90% of service calls of food having frost on them in the freezer is due to the customer not fully shutting the door.

3. If you are 100% sure 1 and 2 a good take a white sealent and run a bead of it around the casing of the freezer where the plastic meets with the out side caseing.

A door gasket is the most likely cause with it letting in moist air from the house. The gasket should be snug on a dollar bill all the way around the door.

Our Frigidaire frost frost free upright freezer from day one has frost build up on the food inside the packages. The frost is not a problem in the freezer itself, but on the food. Freezer burn occur

Hi Dale Dibb, thank you for your inquiry!

I understand that the food inside of your Frigidaire freezer is getting frost on the inside of the packages. I would recommend turning the temperature up inside of your freezer. Additionally moisture inside of the package would cause frost to develop on the inside of the food packages.

Please assure that all possible moisture has been removed out of the food packages prior to placing the items inside of the freezer. If there is anything else that I can help you with, please feel free to reconnect! -Matt

Frost buildup

POSSIBLY faulty door seals allowing outside moisture to enter freezer compartment. This is especially prevalent in older units and/or tropical climate zones [ie high humidity] ... OR if freezer is OVER-LOADED with food items !!!
If you are putting in large quantities of fresh produce to be frozen it is quite often better to PRE-COOL all the items in your refrigerator PRIOR to placing in your FREEZER as they will usually have a high moisture content which will cause frost build-up in your freezer ...

Frost builts up in the coils

Frost will normally build up if you do not have frost free freezer and in which case it is possible the frost free system is faulty. If it is not frost free then it has to be defrosted a few times in a month. However if the frost comes up very quickly then there are possible causes.
You may be having leakage from the door seals or there are items in the freezer that are not properly covered to avoid moisture escaping. Other possibility is that your freezer is set too cold and there are not many items in it.

Items in freezer are gathering significant front, when the freezer should be frost free

A frost free freezer typically relies on a "fan" to vent that area of moisture. So, if the fan/vent is not working properly, the moisture in the freezer stays and become frost. Frost can also form if / when the freezer door is not closing properly / completely ... allowing air / moisture to enter the fridge/freezer . Have those checked out first.

My Westinghouse side by side frost free fridge freezer is freesing the food in the fridge and there is frost on the items in the freezer please help

Can be anything from a damper / cold control issue to a to cold freezer. As for the frost on the food items in the frzr. Most of the time it is normal, especially when the items are in bags or loosely wrapped. Air is the culpert,
air is a gas...at room temp you can't see it. As it cools it condenses to a liquid, as it gets colder it frosts to ice crystals. Vacuum pak or rap tight in plastic and then zip lock removing as much air as possible.

Lots of frost in freezer

check your seals on the door and see if any on the compartments are broken because if the door is broken to the compartment it could be that the the cold and warmth is mixing causing your freezer to frost up temp could also be to high check all

Frost forms on top of food in my freezer (top of refrigerator)...even inside sealed bags of items like microwave Stouffer's, etc. Sometimes up to 1/4" thick! No frost on inside of freezer though. ?????

This excess frosting can be caused by leaky door gaskets, frequent door opening, dispenser door not closing good, anywhere air can get in. Gaskets should hold a dollar bill sung all the way around both doors.

Freezer items have frost on them. Refrigerator

Possibly bad door seals. Take a dollar bill, around the perimeter of the door seals, shut the bill in the door in various different places and see if it pulls out loosely at any point. If so, you have a bad seal. Frost in the freezer means that there is too much humidity in the freezer.
