all your driver requirements/needs and more http://download.cnet.com/2000-20_4.html on the home page you should see a search tab just type in what you are looking for (be precise)but don
Your board has Intel E7250 and ICH7R chipsets and socket LGA775 I couldn't find what audio right of hand but probably Realtek or SoundMax You can update your Intel drivres here; http://downloadcenter.intel.com/ You can click on "Run Intel Driver Update Utility" and Intel will scan your system and aadvise and provide you with updates for your Intel utilities. You can also enter your info and get individual downloads. The best place to find info about your system, providing your system hasn't been changed, ie; change of motherboard, would be to go to the manufacturer. If you provide me with the make and model of your system and waht version of windows you are running. I can assist you further. Dave
sounds like ( no pun intended) your missing the audio drivers or controllers--right-click on MY COMPUTER then PROPERTIES then HARDWARE then DEVICE MANAGER and check if there are any yellow or red "X"s next to anything (you sound driver) right click and select update driver (you need to be connected to the internet)
Ur thinkcenter does not support realtek ac 97 sound driver indeed it supports ADI SoundMAX audio driver which u can download by using following link here is the link
Chances are that when you deleted Soundmax, you deleted the drivers as well. I am going to assume that you 'deleted' the "Soundmax" entry from your Add/Remove Programs console or chose "Uninstall" from the Soundmax folder in your start menu.
The problem is not your speakers. The problem is the audio hardware. I'm willing to bet that you don't have any drivers installed for your Soundmax audio hardware.
More often than not, when you uninstall the software for your audio hardware, it also removes the drivers for the audio hardware.
I would try re-downloading the drivers for your Soundmax hardware and reinstall them.
I am also aware that this Soundmax chip was licensed to a different company by Realtek. (They designed the chip.) You can also try the Realtek AC'97 audio chip drivers. There may be a few differences in the way the software works, though. Here you go: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=23&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#AC
I myself would recommend the Realtek Drivers. However, I also have an experience with this particular chipset where I installed the drivers in Windows XP Service Pack 1 or below and they worked just fine. But if I installed the drivers in Windows XP Service Pack 2, the system just reboots itself over and over again unless I use Safe Mode and uninstall the drivers.
Instead of fighting with that issue, however... I just put in a different soundcard and deactivated the onboard audio hardware in the motherboard's BIOS.
Just a heads up on that...
Good luck with this. Let us know what happens if you need more help.
