My Braun worked fine the last time I used it & would not come on when I tried it today. Worked on it & found it to be jammed with hair. Would not rotate. Scrubbed it with a toothbrush, started digging out the hair, forced it to rotate, scrubbed it some more, & rotated it some more. The more I worked with it the more hair kept coming out. It's rotating fine now. I think I'm going to clean it with my water pik. My Braun is the kind that can be used with water & the top part comes off. Haven't used it yet but I think I have fixed it. Wish I could get it apart to clean it out but the head of the screw is strange & I don't have anything that will turn it.

I faced the same problem. I forced the epilator head to rotate manually, pulled out the bunch of hair stuck in the edges. It's working fine now.

Hello, I had the same problem as you guys: the performance of my epilator got really weak and I found out there was a lot of hair inside its head.
I tried to open it but couldn t find the appropriate tool. What did you use, a screwdriver or a key?

SOURCE: My silk epil 7 motor

Remove the head of the shaver and clean thoroughly. Also, make sure to oil the motor and run the oil in.

Probably a whole bunch muck is inside theyre (science Project ewe), are you sure you want to open it up? ok... there should some screws underneath the plastic covering but you will need to kind of rip that off and reapply some sticky appoxy after.

Why is my epilator not charging?

Same problem. Only after 2 months of buying silk epil 7 epilator, it stopped charging and is not working at all. There is very few customer service centres of Braun in India. So it is very difficult to contact them and show your product to find out the issue.

Silk Epil 5376 Rotators are too slow and it doesn't work like it used to. When you take the head off the spinner spins fast but when you put the head back on it is slow and then the tweezing heads do...

You will need a star-shaped bit to remove the 2 screws. I would imagine they’re metric as it’s made in Germany. Barring that, a small flat head screwdriver used for eyeglasses will work. Remove the screws over a bucket or something so you don’t lose them, because they’re specific to the SilkEpil and can’t be bought at the hardware store.

When you remove the screws and take it apart, you’ll see the gears inside are clogged with hair. The flaw with the design is that the gear mechanism will suck in a few hairs every time you use it, which build up over time.

Remove the gear unit and use tweezers to pull out all the hair. You can rotate the gears to get it all. On the underside of the tweezer section, there’s a little recessed gear that’s probably clogged with hair too. Rotate the tweezer barrel to turn the little gear, and pull out the hair.

Give everything a good rinse, put it back together, and let it dry overnight. Presto, good as new!

I plan on doing this once a year as regular maintenance.
