Smartboard 580 is connected directly to my MacBook Pro by USB. The light on the smartboard flashes green for about a second when first connected, then stays as a fixed red. All attempts to fix come back with "No smartboard connected" type error messages. Any suggestions?

You will want to confirm that this other speaker is connected to the control speaker. Perhaps the cable is disconnected.

first check the power of your system because if power is not working properly then light blinking.and then the condition of the capacitor on the board.

if you have no led, the board has no power. you can only have 4 usbs in one hub, and each of those usb cables cannot be over 16 feet long. if it's red, it's not communicating with the computer. check the usb port on the computer. disconnect the usb fron the board and reconnect it. if it's amber, there is a checksum error, so reset the SC9 controller by pushing the reset button on the side of the SC9 for no longer than 3 seconds. if the pen tray leds cycle, all should be well.

If you tried 7 different laptops yeah, the problem could be with the smartboard. Try another one and see what happens.

Otherwise we'll just be guessing.

I've done this and found that the correct product was sent and worked well.
