Did you happen to write files to one of the cards from the computer, or delete files from the card through the computer before that happened? This problem has been known to happen in such cases. Remember to only *copy* files from the card to the computer using the card reader, and only delete files using the camera. Anyway, try turning off the camera, pulling and re-inserting the card. If it doesn't work - try it a few more times. If it still doesn't work and you've got nothing to lose, try deleting any files you may have written to the card using the computer, and then try again. But the fact that the new card didn't work as well might mean that it won't help. Good luck.

I deleted all old photos on memory card. Took some new ones, but now they won't upload on my laptop. Was working fine before.

* Brand and model# needed for specific instructions.
* Check your warranty. Call for service.
*** Following is for information only.***
* Depending how you deleted the older files. If you just selected everything and deleted or reformated the card then the camera is looking for a specific formated card or folder to move the files to.
* It's also possible that without finding the correct file folder or format that the camera "Default" to the internal memory. You will need to re-insert the properlly formated (or use the format option on camera menu. I would suggest using another card.).
* Connect the camera to your computer to browse the pictures in the camera's memory. Download or transfer to your hard drive storage.
* Once you have archived all your pictures then insert a new data card and start over again following you camera's set up instructions.

My camera akodak easy share, DX6490 Has 2 sanDisk 128mb that Ibought with the camera in 2003 Works fine. The new sandisk cards 4gb say they need to be formatting. The camera keeps repeating it needs...

If you've tried to format the cards in the camera and it failed, it's probably because the cards are SDHC cards instead of SD. With a camera as old as yours, SDHC cards hadn't come out yet.

Cannot find instructions in manual for Nikon Coolpix S210 on how to delete ALL photos from memory disk. It will let me delete one at a time but I want to wipe the memory card clean. Thanks for any and all...

These instructions are from the Instruction Manual of the Coolpix S 210 and need to be carried out within the Set-Up Menu.

Refer Page 19:

Removing Memory Cards
Before removing memory cards, turn the camera off
and confirm that the power-on lamp is off. Open the
battery-chamber/memory card slot cover and press the
card in 1 to partially eject the card 2. The card can
then be removed by hand.
B Formatting Memory Cards
If the message at right is displayed, the memory card must be
formatted before use (A110). Note that formatting permanently
deletes all pictures and other data on the memory card. Be sure
to make copies of any pictures you wish to keep before formatting
the memory card.
Use the multi selector to choose Yes and press k. The
confirmation dialog will be displayed. To start formatting, choose
Format and press k.
Do not turn the camera off or open the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover until
formatting is complete.
• The first time you insert the memory cards used in other devices into the COOLPIX S210, be sure to
format them using this camera (A110).

Refer Pg 110:

 Format Memory/m Format Card
Use this option to format the internal memory or a memory card.
Formatting the Internal Memory
To format the internal memory, remove the memory
card from the camera.
The Format memory option appears in the setup
menu.
Formatting a Memory Card
When the memory card is inserted in the camera, the
Format card option appears in the setup menu.

Hope this helps

My camera will not accept the memory card

Hello, one thing you might want to try is to format the memory card. To do this:
-Insert the card into your computer in the correct slot
-Wait until the computer displays found new hardware/device is ready to use
-Open my computer and look for the card(usually given a drive letter of H,I,J...) On most machines, it will be under a category heading of devices with removable storage
-Right click and select format
-Normally the default settings will work fine
-Select ok/format/continue

Hope this helps

Bought a new memory card and camera wont read it

  • Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
  • 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  • 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  • 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  • 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  • 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

    Does not read memory card

Casio only tested 3 cards with the camera. Sandisc, Toshiba, Panasonic. First: Format the internal memory of camera and then reset camera. In rec mode press menu go to setup tab go up to format press right arrow highlight format press set. Follow same steps for resetting. Then insert mem card and format mem card. If that still doesn't work I would say there is something wrong with the camera itself and would need to be sent in.

    Cards not working with camera

If you used the SD/MMC memory card in another brand of camera or device, you may need to format the card in your new EasyShare digital camera. (You may have noticed a "Memory Card Needs Formatting" message when you inserted the card.) CAUTION: Formatting deletes all pictures and videos, including those that are protected. Removing a card during formatting may damage the card. To format the SD/MMC memory card or the internal memory of the camera: Transfer images to the computer before formatting the memory card. Press the camera Menu button. Highlight SETUP MENU, and then press the OK button. Highlight FORMAT, and then press the OK button. Highlight an option - MEMORY CARD (deletes everything on the card), CANCEL (exits without formatting), or INTERNAL MEMORY (deletes everything in internal memory). Press the OK button. Highlight Continue, and then press the OK button. Wait until formatting is finished before removing the card. When formatting is complete, the SETUP MENU is displayed. Press the Menu button to exit the menu.
