Hello. I've had the above f/freezer for about 6 years and its been fine. Over the past two weeks i've been getting small amounts of water going on to the floor, from the freezer side - it's as if its defrosted. It seems as if its coming from the inside as there's some ice at the bottom. Any ideas?

Sounds like a plugged drain. Your FF defrosts 2-3 times a day and if the drain plugged the next defrost water just runs out the door.

Refrigerator leaks

If it a frost free fridge it should self defrost every 6 to 8 hours all by its self. If you see ice or frost buildup in side the freezer usually back wall harder to notice if the cooling fins are just under the freezer floor but above the fridge ceiling or better picture it as the fridges taint. Sounds like the fridge is having defrost problems and if it every once in awhile does go into defrost or you do it, all that water flows down a hose and out the back around the compressor. Heat from the compressor or other gadgets evaporate the water. If it only defrost a few times a year it is going to overflow the catch basin. Easy to check some times catch basin or drain hose move check back bottom or remove front cover look if bottom catch basin. Main fault is defrost timer stuck in run, location all over in or out, defrost element around cooling fins, defrost thermostat on cooling fins, wiring to / from / joining the last two.

THE FILL TUBE IN BACK OF REFRIGERATOR CAN SLIP

REMOVE THE ICEMAKER AND INSPECT THE FILL TUBE.
RUN WATER IN TUBE TO ELININATE BLOCKAGE AND CHECK

OVERKILL AND USUALLY A WASTE OF ELECTRICITY TO KEEP IT THAT COLD, NOT TO MENTION THE FILL TUBE FREEZING UP

I have a top mount Kenmore refrigerator, model no. 106.60272990, serial no. EK2929089. It is about 10 years old and works fine except for one problem that has kept recurring every 2-3 months over the last...

hey barry I had the same problem and i recently broke down and called a repair service, the repair person installed a small aluminum piece he refered to as a heat probe, on the heater coil which is behind the back plate in the freezer, he claims this will solve the problem, evidently the water created in the defrost cycle freezes before it can get down the drain, thus the drain becomes blocked with ice, subsequent cycling of the heater for defrost causes more water and ice buildup and the water overflows through air ducts into the refridgerator, I would check at an appilance parts store for this part it cost $20, unfortunatley the total cost of the service call was $ 227, My gripe is this is an obvious flaw in design and should have beeen addressed by Kenmore, if you make a part to remedy a problem then its an admission of the problem! Good Luck!

Water keeps developing on the floor below the freezer door. The seals are ok and the freezer compartment it's self is fine and doesn't appear to be leaking from there. Any advice would be appreciated....

You have a blocked drain.
There is a condensation drain at the back above the pump with a small tube that is meant to deposit water onto the pump for evaporation - the drain gets blocked so the condensation flows out through the front door. Also makes big rivers of ice at the back of your freezer behind the bottom shelf??
Solution - Dismantle the inside of the freezer - take all the plastic trim outof the back of the freezer with a screw driver - don't worry, it's only trim and goes back easily. Eventually you will see the drain collector (flat V shape) and at the point of the V is a small hole, pour warm water in this till it drains to the pump at the back, instead of down onto your floor at the front. You may need to clean the hole too as it gets gunked up.
You can also help by finding the drain tube above the pump at the back and gently inserting a chopstick or similar untill the warm water empties onto your hand !
Takes about an hour all in all and has been fixed for a year now on mine.
