Sylvania LD320SSX 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV/DVD Combo fails to turn on(power light flashes green, turns solid green 10-15 minutes then red). Leading up to this condition it would take several attempts to turn unit on from remote or power button. Inspected circuit boards, and there are no bulging capacitors. Tried a reset using the remote's "hidden" buttons.

it should be 3 or 4

remove power from the set and any box being used with it, after a while power both back up, a box or the set can cause this issue.

This person on FixYa had a similar problem.

Probable lamp failure, lamp won't turn on leading to red light to come on. How many times does it flash? 3 means safety switch bad, 5 flashes means lamp or lamp ballast failing.

your powersupply is dying in the set.. have it checked..

You can program the Direct TV remote to control your TV by using the below steps:

1. Turn on the TV

2. Slide the MODE switch to the TV position.

3. Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys at the same time until the green light under the TV position flashes twice, then release both keys.

4. Using the number keys enter the 5-digit code (20675, 21268). If performed correctly, the green light under TV flashed twice.

5.Aim the remote at your TV and press the PWR key once. Your TV should turn off. If it does not turn off, repeat steps 3 and 4, trying the other code.

6. Slide the MODE switch to the DIRECTV position. Press TV POWER. Your TV should turn on.
