Hello Eitan,

You will have two options either you can download the CD version or DVD version. Also you will have the case studis, online support and the documentation for installing Ubuntu.
There are many versions of ubuntu depending on the computer you are installing it on and its specifications. For computers with less ram you may want to install Lubuntu which only requires a computer to have 128 mb of ram and is similar to windows in the user interface design. You can also download a checksum (hashes) file to ensure you have the proper version attached is a link of the different type of ubuntu and information on checksums (hashes).
I would suggest putting a live version on a thumb drive which allows you to test the Ubuntu version on your computer before you wipe your hard drive. I have included links to sites that have helped me out when I started learning about Ubuntu

Ubuntu is one of the easyest linux distributions to install, it has a visual setup which is very easy to understand and follow very similiar to installing software in windows, the dvd or cd can also be used 'live' without changes to the contents of the hard drive to test it out before decideing if you wish to install it or not.
