On most self-cleaning ovens after you push the clean cycle button you have to tell it how long you want it to clean. Try pushing clean then pushing 3:00 for 3 hrs. If you don't have a number pad try pushing the clean pad several times and see if it cycles through clean levels like low, med or high. Then after you tell it how long to clean hit start. If you don't have a start button the oven should start cleaning after around 5 seconds. It will lock the door and begin the clean cycle. Also remember it takes around an hour for the oven to cool and unlock after the cycle is finished. Hope that helps.

Try putting it back into clean mode and and listen for the lock motor to start turning. If you can hear it, keep trying the door until it opens. Don't hold steady pressure on the latch, just pull a little then let off. After you get it open, hold in on the door switch and cancel the clean mode and it should go back to correct position. If this doesn't work, you may have a failed door latch, control, temp sensor, or switch. Post back with the complete model number and I will look it up and see which latch assembly you have and see if we can get it unlocked manually.

I have the exact problem, had a service man look at it while still under warranty. He said it was fixed and left. Tried it again, same problem. Called him back 2 times after that, he quit responding to my calls. By tyhen warranty expired and GE refused to do anything.
