ADVENT TV Q2035-V-CHIP CODE UNKNOWN, NEED TO RESET BECAUSE PROGRAMS BLOCKED

V-chip Block
TV- 14 - this is a rating for movies and TV programs. Basically means PG-13 like the old movie theater rating.

lsv- means, language, ***, violence.

You TV can be set to block these programs.
In you menu look for a catagory called "locks" or "ratings"

there you will find the options of what can be veiwed and what will be blocked.
if you everything to be available, just disable all settings.
if you want to choose different things to be allowed, just click on the icons and they become blocked.

Activated by a PIN number, you can set Parental Controls on your TV and/or cable set-top box to control the programs that can be viewed on your TV. There are three ways to block programs:

• By Channel
• By Rating
• By Time Period (Not available in all areas.)

The V-Chip understands television program ratings and blocks programs based upon the rating level selected. All TV sets that are 13 inches or larger are required to incorporate the V-Chip technology. Parents set rating levels so that certain TV shows need a password to be viewed. For more information on the V-Chip and program ratings visit the FCC V-Chip site.
Several cable and satellite companies offer parental control options. They allow specific channels to be blocked so that they cannot be viewed.These companies also offer the ability to block shows based on language, violence, nudity, and rating levels. This offers more flexibility than the V-Chip.

I got a jvc tv-13142 at a pawn shop but some of the channel is blocked and i need a vchip code to unlock it i try all zeros and it show error how do i reset code

power supply is not producing the required voltages into the tv.
open your tv and power it you should hear a sound like chip chip chip this sound should go on and continue without breaking, if it breaks close the tv and take it to a w/shop.
ask the tech to check the power supply, transistors, zener diodes, and capacitors.

Push the power button and the action button on the tv set until it shuts itself off and this will reset your tv. You cannot use the remote to reset...must use the actual tv buttons on the television set.

Reset the password to '0000' by holding the VolumeDown and ChannelUp buttons on the TV (not remote) for about 5 seconds. Do this while viewing blocked content- you'll see the screen blink when it gets reset. Then go into the menu and disable/change the v-chip settings as desired using password '0000'. Turn the volume down to 0 then change to a blocked channel. (where it asks for v-chip password) Next, on the TV, not from the remote, hold the volume down button, and hold the '0' key on the remote for between 2-10 seconds... the screen should unlock and you should have no V-Chip restrictions.

You can use theV-Chip Parent Lock to
Block or Allow programs based on the

The default setting is to allow all programs.

• Select theV-chip hours to lock and unlock for television programs

After you set the lock, you will need the secret code in order to:
• view a locked program,
• view the locked TV, or
• cancel the lock.
If you forget the code, you can view the locked TV without entering the code. To do this, simply
press the buttons on your remote labeled "QV" and "9" at the same time whenever your secret
code is requested. Unlocking theTV this way is temporary.
To change or permanently cancel the lock:
I. Turn on your TV. If the TV requests your secret code, press
and_ at the same time.

2. Press _ to view the main menu.
3. Use the • o rV to select ..V..-Ch p Parent Lock and press ENTER .
4. The on-screen display will ask for your current passcode. Press
and _ at the same time.
5. The on-screen display will now ask you to enter a new code:

• To cancel the passcode permanently, press _ or _ .
• To change to a new passcode, use the number buttons to enter a
new code, then press E_R,
IMPORTANT
You must use the remote control included with this
TV. You cannot use a remote control from another
Mitsubishi component and you cannot use "Univer_
sar' remotes from other manufacturers.

I used the following that I found on a site that compiles v-chip reset solutions:

Philips and Magnavox:

Philips sets use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The override code
for Philip sets is 0711, although it may say "Incorrect code" the first time
to trick you. If "Incorrect code" is displayed, simply enter 0711 again. To
use it hit the MENU key to get to the menus. Go up or down until you reach
AUTOLOCK or SMARTLOCK, depending on the model, and push the "right arrow"
key on the remote. Enter the override code, and enter it a second time if it
says it is incorrect.

Once in the AUTOLOCK or SMARTLOCK menu, go to BLOCK, and push the "right
arrow" key. Go to BLOCKING OPTIONS and press the "right arrow" key. Go to
MASTER DISABLE and press the "right arrow" key so that it says "MASTER
DISABLE ON". The v-chip is now reset.

Sharp has several locking and V-chip commands but one of these three possibilities should work.
Newer Combos With "Time Limiter" Feature
If the "Secret Number" is forgotten, simultaneously press the STOP, RESET, and VOL up buttons on the front panel of the set.
This disables both the "Channel Lock" and the "Time Limiter" features.

CTV's Lock Mode---Blue screen and display says,Parental Control Rating Unknown
Try This: Hold Channel up and down on the set while pluging in AC cord.
Or Try This: On the set, press volume up and channel down at the same time.

CTV's V-Chip Release
When screen asks you to "input secret number" press and hold channel up and down on the TV set until message disappears. Press menu 2 times to exit.
