OK either your hard dive has crashed or stopped working altogether.

When you hit f2 look for basic settings or something like that and see if
you can see your HDD listing. Then post again.

My advice is to uninstall ALL nvidia software, before you install the new.

NVidia is the manufacturer of the display driver and if not installed will not work properly. I suggest re loading updated drivers from Sony.com because re starting the laptop like that will damage some drivers, especially the display driver software.
That should solve your problem.

Tell me if there is any chance u could see any light on ur LCD screen?

If u could see any icons or logo, the light in ur LCD usually got faulty in the LCD monitors!

I wouldn't advise getting too 'crazy' with buying the best AGP 8X graphics card available.

A decent AGP 8X graphics card that doesn't 'break the bank', will do just fine.

[Advisement:

BEFORE you install a graphics card, here are some tips;

A) Computer unplugged from power.

B) Observe Anti-Static Precautions.

Your body carries Static electricity.
Static will fry out (Short Circuit), the delicate hardware components inside a computer.

Computer unplugged from power, computer case open, working on a table; TOUCH the metal frame of the open computer case, BEFORE you reach inside.

Should you walk away in the middle of working on your computer, upon your return be sure to Touch the metal frame again.

C) Computer on, and Windows loaded, Install the CD that comes with the graphics card FIRST.
Load the software from that disk.

Then shut the computer down, unplug from power, and after observing Anti-Static precautions, install the graphics card.

[Also, sometimes in our zealousness to get things going again, we forget to unplug the monitor from the computer's Integrated Graphics, and plug the monitor into the graphics card ]

If you can see the windows logo and get into the bios then it is not the graphics card.

Most likely cause is the os itself, just after post press F8 repeatetly until you have the boot mode page open and choose safe mode, in safe mode do a system restore, goto start bar, programs, accessories, system tools and system restore, and start from a resent restore point. This can can take a while, so be patient and let the computer restore itself until you have the windows screen up.

If the restore dosent work, goto safe mode again, right click on my computer goto properties and enter device manager, in there under display adapters click on the plus sign and uninstall the graphics card, reboot. hope this helps post back if need farther help.

This product by sony has not been designed for high end gaming. The video card on the product cannot be upgraded.

According to the Sony support site vgn-fz35gn is not a valid model number.

Check to see if you meant VGN-FZ350AE or VGN-FZ350FE
It was noted that these 2 models are only sold in Latin America

Not quiet sure what you mean by its only using a fraction of your graphics card?

If you go in to device manager it will tell you what graphics card you have.

What game is it you are trying to play?

If it is lagging then it suggest that your card isnt powerfull enough to cope with the game.

Have you tried dropping the display settings in the game to see if that helps?
