think the plug-in referred to is the Yahoo server one as opposed to any of the plug-ins for
Yahoo Messenger
It seems your having trouble navigating the Yahoo Server
Make sure your IE is up to date and not set to 'work offline' in tools
- Even if you have another browser set as default IE is interlinked
with Messenger
Check you have all your support software loaded for Messenger using the links on this page to help

Note - Flashplayer and Shockwaveplayer must be for IE
Restart
your computer
If you still have a problem try running Yahoo Messenger in
Compatibility Mode (if its a windows 7 issue)
Right click on your Messenger
desktop icon
and select 'Properties' Click the Compatibility tab and select to use
compatibility mode - choose an OS that you know was successful and
click OK
