Shuffle not working, blinking green-yellow led.

My player suddenly stopped working, the LED on it blinks green-yellow, like there were no music files on it, when I push the play button. The computer(PC) recognizes it, but iTunes doesn't. I can't even use it as a removable device, Explorer can't open the drive. Apple Updater fails to update or restore the device. I heard that lot of people have this problem. Does anyone know a solution? My warranty is over...

Hi

Ur Ipod shuffles needs to be reset to factory setting, you will find the utility for Mac and windows machine at:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1293?viewlocale=en_US
http://www.techspot.com/downloads/3726-ipod-shuffle-reset-utility.html

1. Reset the ipod using the utility
2. Run itunes application to create profile : after you have reset the Ipod just start itunes and it will ask you to provide a profile name, just provide any name and select okay.

I had the same issue, got it sorted using the windows utility.

Should work for u as well.

Thanks
Krishnendu

Place the Shuffle in your PCs USB.

A dialog box may pop up. Do not click it.

Do not click any dialog which pops up asking if you want to put songs from this pc onto this ipod, deleting the old ones.

Click edit, preferences, then select the "ipod" tab.

Check the box "enable disk use".

Move the slider to the right so that it is set to more data (maximum), and 0 songs.

Click ok.

Right click your start button and select "Explore".

Navitage to My Computer, and then seek the drive which represents the shuffle.

Right click the drive and select format.

Leave the options as they are.

Click Start.

After formatting, click eject ipod (icon in the bottom right of the itunes window).

Remove the shuffle.

Re-insert the shuffle.

First try resetting the ipod shuffle - Disconnect iPod shuffle from the computer (if connected). Move the switch on the back of iPod shuffle to the off position. Tip: When iPod shuffle is off, the green stripe by the switch is not visible. Wait 5 seconds. Move the switch on the back to the play in order or the shuffle position. The green stripe will be visible in either position. iPod shuffle is now reset. If after resetting iPod shuffle you are going to attach it to your computer, be sure place the switch in the off position. It it still doesn't work, Make sure all your software is up to date. Remove iTunes software and then reinstall iPod and iTunes software from latest versions on the web. Now try to restore your ipod again.

If the status light blinks orange when you press a button, the iPod shuffle buttons are
disabled. Press and hold Play/Pause (’) for about three seconds, until the status light
blinks green.

When I turn on my ipod shuffle & hit play it blinks green and orange several times and won't play

The Apple iPod shuffle is a digital music player that contains a single indicator light that relays information about the device's battery condition, computer connection and any errors the device is having. The indicator light is capable of blinking red, green or orange as well as displaying a steady red, green or orange light. The iPod Shuffle includes a Universal Serial Bus interface and buttons on the front of the device for controlling music files.

Blinking Orange A blinking orange light indicates the iPod Shuffle is receiving an update via iTunes to the device's internal components. The update could include a patch to repair an error the player encountered once before, an update to the player's file-saving software, or a combination of security, repair and software updates. Updates are free and automatically sent directly from Apple through iTunes to your iPod shuffle before a sync process starts. Disconnecting iPod Shuffle When the player's light is blinking orange, do not unplug the device from your computer's USB port this will stop the update process and possible corrupt the device's internal hard drive. Let the update process and sync process finish before clicking "Eject" within iTunes and removing the player. Disk Use Enabled If you use your iPod Shuffle as a flash drive and not as a music player, a blinking orange light means that the device is connected to your computer and ready to accept files. The "Disk Use" enabled setting is changeable within iTunes if you decide to use your iPod Shuffle for music storage instead of file storage. When set up as a flash drive, the iPod Shuffle is assigned a drive letter by your computer's operating system and the drive lets you "drag and drop" files to the device. b> Charging If your iPod shuffle's battery is completely depleted or low on charge, connect the player to your computer immediately for charging then leave it connected to receive any updates to the device's software and internal components. Its indicator light may or may not blink orange until after it is fully charged. If the battery is low on charge or completely depleted, you may receive an error stating that the iPod is corrupt or needs restoring, close the error message and let the device fully charge.

Ipod shuffle cannot hear music through headphones

Hi,

Is it really a Head phone issue? lets find out that first.
If your headphones don't work as expected or not at all, connect the headphones to another audio source, such as your computer's speaker jack or another audio device that has a 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack, and test them. If your headphones are under warranty and still don't work, you can order replacement iPod headphones - Link - https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do;jsessionid=1B9ED1B556F0978A6C914A52711E59AA

And about the yellow and green LEDs
The yellow LED shows when the player is charging and a blinking green LED indicates you've paused the player.
At the back is another LED, the 'Battery Status' button, just below the toggle switch; when pressed, it flashes to give you a general idea of how much battery charge remains... green indicates a full charge... yellow, a low charge... red, very low charge... and no glow means its given up its ghost.

Hope this helps :-))
