A lot of times the stitch length block gets gummy a wont move. If you have the back cover off look where the reverse arm is attached to the reverse/stitch length block. You can spray some WD 40 on it and try to move it back and forth manually to get it loose. You can also try a heat gun. Make sure you clean out as much of the WD 40 as you can when your done and then oil it with proper sewing machine oil.
