How do i get a straight stitch on my golden touch & sew model 640 machine

Check for diagrams on the selector wheel and then adjust your stitch length. Do not set to tight as your thread will break

Singer golden touch sew 750

have you tried turning the bobbin the opposite way in the bobbin case?
it's also possible that the sewing machine may need some type of adjustment, it would be a good idea to have it check at a sewing machine repair shop.

I'm trying to get my mother's Singer Touch & Sew Deluxe 645 to sew a straight stitch. I don't want to buy a manual since the machine rarely gets used and I have limited time to "fix"

Not much information to go on. What do you mean it won't sew a straight stitch. It just won't sew a straight line? It won't form a stitch? What?

I have a Singer Touch N Sew Model 636. The

I had a Golden Touch 'N Sew many years ago and as the machine aged and parts became worn, step 4 of this bobbin winding diagram started to become a problem and I had to sometimes try several times before the "tabs" would release. If they did not release, the machine "thought" it was still winding the bobbin and would not sew.

Singer touch n sew 750 winding bobbins

You can find Singer bobbin winding instructions at http://www.singerco.com/resources/bobbin_wind.html.
"Birdnesting" occurs when there is no tension on the needle thread to pull the bobbin thread. This is easily corrected by rethreading the machine, following the threading path carefully and making sure the thread is fully engaged in the tension mechanism.
