My AOC screen goes black after about a few seconds after booting.

Hello,

The picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer or service center within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

How to change the picture format on my monitor?

You should set your PC to the monitor native resolution for this monitor: 1440 x 900 @60Hz.
Here is the spec for your monitor: http://www.dealtime.com/xPO-AOC-919Swa1-Black

I need to unlock my monitor

Here is a link to the manual for your AOC 22" monitor.
When the window opens you will see "pdf downloads" on the right side of the page. Click on your manual and download it.

Hope this helps to unlock it.

Dell E171FP Monitor goes black after 2 secs

Hi, I don't think the problem is with your monitor. Your monitor sounds like it's doing exactly what it's supposed to do. The monitor is supposed to turn off if there's no cable attached, which means there's no signal input. When the screen goes black, does the power light stay on and turn orange? or does it go off as well? I would recommend that you lower your screen resolution to 1280x1024 or lower in the Display Properties window, then remove your primary monitor, and connect the monitor to your desktop computer. You should see it light up when connected. The monitor auto-senses when there's a computer attached to the cable and when there's a signal. If it doesn't see a signal, it goes black to save power.
