The Samsung B2030 LCD Monitor has no speakers, you cannot turn the volume up on it. Instead turn the volume up on the speakers, or on the computer itself.

When setting up xr8600 is it best to start mains and monitors master at 0DB?

1. Turn the main and monitor volumes all the way down (off). Plug a cd player into channel 9/10 and play a track of music of your liking. With the main/monitor volumes still off, adjust the gain on 9/10 until the clip light turns on, then back it down until the clip light just turns off. Put the channel volume at 12 o' clock.
2. With the music still playing, turn up the mains to the desired listening level first, and then adjust the graphic eq until the music sounds good in the room. Remember or mark the position of the volume control. Do not use the channel eq on 9/10 for music that has been mastered properly, leave the eq flat. Once this step is completed then you have now set the main eq.
3. Repeat the same for monitors. Turn off the main volume and then bring up the monitor main volume to the desired level first, then set eq. Now your monitor eq is set properly. Remember or mark the position of the monitor volume.
4. Set up microphone - plug a mic into channel 1 with volume all the way down. Speak or sing into the microphone and adjust the GAIN until you see the clip light, then back down a litttle on the gain. Put the monitor and main volumes back up to the mark from step 2. Now adjust the volume and monitor send on the mic channel to the desired loudness first before adjusting the mic channel eq. Use subtractive eq method to minimize distortion and feedback. ...i.e. if the mic is bassy then turn down the lows, do not ADD highs. If the mic needs bass, turn down the highs.

How do i turn the volume up

Did you turn up the both (at the PC Audio control panel and at the Monitor control panel) volumes up?
Try using MP3 player or any audio sound sources feeding the monitor audio input to see what happen also.

My volume is not working correctly. I have it turned up to 100 - the highest and I can barely hear it.

Monitor volume is affected by TWO volume controls (or even three...)
1: Volume on the monitor can be set to 80%
2: Main Volume on the COMPUTER can be set to your liking.
3: Wave volume on the computer mixer settings should be set for 80% (See Sound on your control panel or right click your volume control near the clock)

If all these are right and the volume is still low, check that the audio is not set for surround 5 or 7 channel and the monitor audio connector is plugged into the REAR green connection on the computer.

Still problems, the audio driver in the monitor is shot.

HOW DO I TURN DOWN THE VOLUME? I DOTN SEE THE VOLUME BUTTON

This monitor has no volume. The volume is controlled by the computer connected to the monitor, and not controlling the monitor itself.

To regulate volume on computer, click on the small audio icon near to the clock, or locate the audio settings icon in control panel.

Acer speaker?

There are two possible problems here. (1). The volume control on your monitor is turned down. With the button on the front of your monitor, find the menu/option button, and look for volume control (2) The volume coming out of your computer is low. Double click on the speaker at the bottom right of your screen, located on the start bar. Use the sliders to change the volume. This should fixya up.

Good Luck!

How can i connect compaq presario 1425 to a desk top pc so that i can use it front volume nob of the monitor to adjust the sound system from the desk top to listen to the sound

hi dear

Monitor Volume Control In order for the volume control feature of the Presario xx25 monitors to work correctly with the computer, it is necessary for the monitor to be powered on at least 8-10 seconds before the CPU. Try removing the computer and monitor from any surge protector or power strip that they may be attached to, and turning on the monitor first, then the computer itself.
3rd Party Video Cards The volume control on the 1425, 1525, 1725 and FX monitors is a digital control. It sends its commands via two conductors in the monitor's VGA data cable. The corresponding points on the VGA connector on your 4700 series Presario accept this signal. A 3rd party video card would not have this functionality built in. Most times, it just means the remote volume knob ceases to function. You can still adjust levels with the software. In some cases, however, a 3rd party card can cause the volume to either drop or go full on with no way to control it. One possible solution is to turn the computer on and let it fully boot up BEFORE you turn on the monitor. This way the monitor's remote volume function will not be initialized and you may be able to use the software volume controls.
You can if you want, go to any Computer parts store and purchase a VGA extension cable. You will need to remove pins 4 and 11. This cable will be installed on the monitor cable and then to the card itself. The rest of the manufacturers cabling will remain the same. You will lose the use of the volume control knob on the monitor. If this is not acceptable, then you will need to remove the card.

No speaker volume

Hey Mate, being honest weve sold alot of TFT monitors and most are hard to hear with all the volumes turned up, only thing you can try are. turn volume up to max on the monitors menu, also double click on the little speaker icon on the bottom right hand corner of the screen and a volume menu appears turn up WAV, & the main one on the left. if you are not getting any sound at all check you have the audio cable from the monitor plugged into the green connection on the back of the pc. Afraid thats the only options to get it louder or buy a set of speakers to get the sound louder. All the best John
