How to replace serpentine belt on a car
1. Make a drawing of the routing of the existing belt before you take it off, or there may be one on the fan shroud or nearby.
2. Locate the spring loaded tensioner. It will be a pully that is not connected to any other component.
3. You will need a long braker bar (most likely half inch drive). On the spring loaded tensioner you will find a place (a cut out square) to insert the braker bar. (Note, no socket is needed, just the braker bar itself) This is a secure way to leverage the tensioner
4. Using the braker bar, move the tensioner to release tension on belt.
5. Slide old belt off pulleys, and move around fan.
6. Install new belt with same method, making sure the routing is correct.
