Why don't my cartridges align? It's an officejet 6110 all-in-one printer. Thinking maybe the color cartridge needed changing, I replaced it with a new original one but still getting the same messages which say...."busy"..."printing in process"....."please turn power off and on again"...."initializing" ..."press enter to align cartridges".....All the while it has a strange repeated sound which would suddenly turn off by itself stating "Scanner failure. Turn power off and then on again". Do you have any idea what could be the problem? Thank you so much!

SOURCE: SCANNER FAILURE

This is probably a power issue. If you have many devices plugged in to one socket, the printer can't get enough power to start up or start the scanner. If you have a power extended cable, remover it and plug in te printer direct in the wallsocket.

you need to align your printer cartridge, to align the cartridge go to start button on your computer desktop then click the setting and choose the printer and faxes then right click your installed printer HP 6110 then choose the properties of your printer then you click the maintenance menu then you see an option to align your printer cartridge...just click it and wait until finish aligning your cartridge..

It might mean that your cartridge has become demagnetized. That happened to me and I had to replace the cartridge. The little brass covering at the front of the cartridge is very delicate and can become demagnetized if handled incorrectly. You can buy refurbished ones on line and they are not as expensive, but that is entirely up to you. Good luck.

in both cartridges

If machine does not print the colors it cannot align. Try changing the color and try again

Continually says align print cartridges

My guess is that the color cartridge is either defective or not inserted correctly. I have a 6110 and know that inserting a print cartridge is a little tricky. If it isn't completely inserted and the top latch fastened correctly, the cartridge either won't work or produce errors.

Try reseating the color cartridge so it's inserted in exactly the same way as the black cartridge and run a print job again.

Open the following web page and go to Step three to see the instructions for cleaning the electronic contacts on the cartridge and print carriage.

Ink Cartridge Alignment Fails
