Freezer thawing...trim between freezer and refridge and side of freezer very warm to the touch

If the freezer temps are normal and the refrigerator is warmer than normal, the the air flow from freezer to refrigerator is being hampered either by ice on the evaporator or the freezer is stuff in such a way that normal airflow between freezer and fridge is hampered. If the auto defrost is not working properly you will have warmer freezer temps and a relatively warm refridge. Check the defrost timer and defrost heater element.

Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.

Yes you have eather a bad defrost timer, defrost heater, or the drainline could be stoped up. Call a some real Ref. tec people because those don't know what they are doing.
