I've changed the ink cartridges in my MP120 twice and the display is still showing that the ink level is low. How do I get the printer to reset to show the correct ink level?

How can I make printer recognize refilled cartridge on lexmark prevail pro 705

Refilled cartridges will not reset the ink levels. The printer will still recognize it as empty.

Please be advised that refilled/remanufactured cartridges could damage your printhead and will not be covered under warranty.

How can tell if the ink level is low? hp 2420

Cartridge comes along with memory, the information of estimated ink/toner levels will stored in this memory(Depends upon the cartridge model yield will varies). When printer performs the printing, memory count will comes down, when its reaches the minimum count printer will display the message of "low ink/toner/remain pages" levels, once its reaches to '0', display will changes like "replace the cartridge"...But there is no electronic component or mechanism to measure the ink/toner levels in the cartridges.Only estimated levels only printer can recognizes.. Take usage page through menu, you will get the information that usage % & printed pages info, you can judge how much remain it can print...

Dell P703w Printer ink levels reporting low, but there is stil link, how do I reset the monitor in my laptop? I've tried to go to the Advanced printer properties, but I can't find an option to do...

I think you will find it reports low ink as a warning to give you time to go out and buy replacement ink cartridges. Do not change the ink until it is empty . or not printing the particular colour.

I have changed the colour ink on my canon mp460 but it still say empty

CL41, this is the one you are using for your cartridge.

Did you change your cartridge with brand new one or refilled one??

If you did with refilled one, the ink level won't go back with full.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the method how printer measures the ink level.

1. Each cartridge has a serial number.
2. As soon as installation in printer, printer recognizes the cartridge by serial #.
3. And the printer starts to count the printing document.
4. After reaching certain print counting, the ink level will show "low ink"

So my answer is even if you refilled your cartridge, the ink level won't change,
since printer cannot weight the cartridge or.....some other technology to measure each color ink level.

Thanks.

We have a Dell 944 showing Error 1102 consult user guide...cannot find the user guide. We just replaced color ink cartridge with a re-processed one ordered online. Please advise...many thanks!.

Hi there
Dell Printer 944 error message 1102
Please unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the power brick from the back of the printer for 60 seconds. Now plug everything back in. This will reset any error messages the printer has. Now open the printer with the power on and the cartridges should go to the center to be replaced. Take out both Dell Series 5 ink cartridges and make sure the tape is off the cartridges and insert both back in and make sure the seat properly and latch. Close the printer and it should print an alignment page. If you still get the error message

Why does my Dell ink cartridge level still show up as "low ink" after refilling them?
Dell ink cartridges have a sensor that reports the ink level as low once it reaches a certain level. The sensor can not
be reset. If you refill an ink cartridge that previously reported low ink, it may print fine, but the sensor will always
report low ink. Buying or replacing ink cartridges with new Dell cartridges will resolve the low ink message.

Dell discourages ink refills. Refilling ink may lead to print quality problems, and even eventual hardware problems.
This post is in no way a validation of refilling ink cartridges.

Why my printer is reporting “low ink" after using refilled/remanufactured ink cartridges?
Most ink cartridges have sensors that report the ink level. The “Low Ink” is usually the last sensor (fuse) before
running out of ink.

Since the sensors are fuses that open when the ink level drops, they cannot be reset. If you are using refill or
remanufactured ink cartridges, the best thing to do is to disable “ink alerts” on the printer’s software so you don’t keep
getting “low ink” messages.

To disable “Ink Alerts” on Dell inkjet printers:
1. Open the Dell printer software (All-In One Center, Tool Box, etc)
2. Go to Settings
3. Advanced
4. More Options
5. In the “Appearance Mode, window, check “Never display the Printing Status window” and “Display the low
ink alert only when the cartridges are almost empty.

My yellow ink light flashing despite ink in cartridge. New cartridge does not solve this problem

Hi not know if it work for you but you can try
re: How do I reset the ink level? e: How do I reset the ink level?
"
1) Disconnect the printer's power outlet
2) Press and hold the power button while connecting the power outlet back. 3) While still holding down the power button, press the reset button twice.(red circle with a triangle) 4) Release the power button
The printer takes about 10 seconds to show the number 0. (at this step, i press and hold the reset button twice, each time i press and hold is about 5 seconds. then i'm able to continue to the next step) 5) Press + to change the value from 0 to 1. 6) When this value is 1, press colour button; this will light up two leds.
One is for plain paper and the other for photo paper. At this point feed the printer with paper. 7) Press the power button twice and the printer will print a some stuff (if this page doesn't print by itself, press the "color" button once and the test page will print). Don't worry much about the printed material. I got some stripped lines and some numbers. I believe that my colour cartridge is clogged which is why I got the green strips.
When you print this sheet the value in the display returns to zero. (at this step, i have to wait for about two minutes or more then the printer automatically start print the document mentioned.) 8 ) Open the printer cover cover (not the scanner cover) and remove the cartridges. With the printer still open, disconnect the power outlet. 9) Close the lid and turn on the printer. 10) Refill cartridges and place them back in their nice little abode in the printer. 11) close the printer cover. Wait for 2 mins. (for my printer, i didnt wait for two minutes, the light immediately disappeared) The amber light beside the black ink and color ink will have disappeared.
Also if you take printouts now you will no longer get the ink low warning. If you check the ink status
it will show that the cartridge is full !!! THe ink level has been reset successfully."

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one and to go on helping.
