My nikon coolpix L18 was working fine one day and the next I turned it on and the screen was sketching in and out then went white. it still takes great pictures but the screen is not working.

you need replace the CCD sensor. you can buy a new or usedin eBay.

Scrap it or take it back if it is new.

Same thing happened to mine. After researching the cost of a replacement screen, $60.00, I decided to replace the camera with an L20.

i have a similar problem, is the screen white with occasional lines that look like a badly tuned digital tv? my tv out works so I am guessing its a LCD problem, try replacing the LCD like I am doing...

Try these procedures.

We were in the middle of taking pictures on our Nikon L18 and it was in continuous shot mode and the picture froze on the screen...I called tech support and they wanted me to turn the camera in so it could i fixed..it was a BRAND NEW CAMERA!!!!
yeah so we just took the batteries out and let it reset...see if that works.

I had the same problem, but I went to Lithium batteries..I received my camera for Christmas, got the batteries day after and have not had to change them as of yet.
