You could try a head cleaning or a deep cleaning. You can find them in your printer properties under maintenance. After a few cleanings, try a test page. Keep cleaning and trying a test page until it prints like it should. If it never prints black and/or cyan, the print head is either seriously plugged or damaged.
This normal with epson printers. The nozzles get blocked and some colors are not printed. Try to take the Nozzles print by Turning on the printer while pressing the ink replace button.
The printer will print a page with some lines, see if you can find all the colors. Cyan Magenta, Yellow & Black lines. if not hold the ink button for 5 sec., and it will clean the head try the 1st step again.
do you have a ciss t13 printer?.. coz if you have , then the problem is in your hose installation is short,
if its not then your michanichal gear is broke,.. you have to bring it to its service center
Do you mean "how do I print text in Magenta instead of black". Well, you change the colour of the text from black to magenta. For example in Word, you would select (highlight) all the text, click on Format, then Font. Then click on the down arrow at the side of the Font Color box, then click on Magenta. To check you have the right colour, click again on the down arrow at the side of the Font Color box, and select More Colors. Then click on Custom. Magenta has a Red-Green-Blue value of 255-0-255. Now print the document and it will come out with magenta text.

it sounds like a print cartridge problem to me.
sometimes they have other problems. try to replace the cartridge. if this does not work then try replacing the print head
One ovbious option would be to have a friend print it out. I assume that is not an option.
Some printers just won't let you print if a single color is out. Yes, stupid. Try printing a blank page. If it fails, there is no other option but to replace the cartridge or print elsewhere. If the blank page test works, this next option/test is worth a try... Depending on the app you are using, you can specify the color breakdown of the colors you are using. In your case, it is possible that the text is set to a rich black (4-color) rather than just black. If that is the case, to test this most quickly, make a new file, and create a new black (black2), set to 100 black, 0% other colors. Type a wor and set it to print in that color and try to print it. If that works, apply the same technique to your real document. Hope it works. I've been stuck in the same situation, and some printers will just not let you print if a single color is out. Good luck.
