I have a harmony 890. it turns all the equipment on/off properly except the TV (a Vizio). this works intermittently. suggestions?

Not worth repairing, contact harmony and they will give you a coupon for 50% off a new remote. The 900 replaced the 890, although I prefer the 890 the screen is a lot better on the 900.

Hi. You can learn the buttons from the original remote so that they work

In the software, click 'Learn IR' next to the icon for your TV. Follow the on-screen instructions to learn the buttons.

I had a similar issue and only needed to "re-configue" the remote... Basically, just try plugging it back into a USB cord ( connected to your computer) and go to the original programming home page and click the "Update button." It will re-program your remote as if it was new.. Over time your Harmony may lose or forget the frequency of your various components. This happened to me. Also, make sure the remote has a full charge while you're programming it. Give it a try !

where are you located (US, Canada etc.)?
are you still under your warranty?

Logitech's Harmony remotes only have a one year warranty, except in Europe where it is 2 years.

Also, they do not provide repair services.

That being said, it is known that if you call them about this issue, you may get a discount for a new remote.

You DirecTV device may have been reset ack to RF. You'll have to make sure the device is set to accept IR commands in order for the Harmony remote to work on it.

try doing a firmware upgrade after booting your remote in safe mode

Try downloading the program again.

in the harmony remote software (7.4.3) go to the device (Bell receiver) under the devices tab and select settings. select the second radio button (adjust power settings) and click next. select "i want to turn this device off when its not in use" and then click next. Continue answering the questions, and then update your harmony remote.
