If you have a yellow/white jack on your DVD/VCR unit you can connect it to the TV using composite cables. If you only have the coax output on the DVD player you can buy an RF modulator that will convert the coax to composite also. But if you have two ports on thhe DVD player as most combos do the top is usually an input source such as cable and the bottom is the output that goes to the back of the tv. You could also buy a "splitter" and attach the cable and dvd coaxs to each of the out ports(they will be side by side) and on the opposite end, which is the in run a coax from that port to the tv coax port.
I hope this helps you out. If you need assistance you can visit me on the chat portion of this website.

Combo VCR/DVD player has no cable connection on back> How do I hook it up, through adigital box, to an older TV with one set of white, yellow and red connections?

What outputs are available on the digital box? If you have composite out (AV), then you connect the yellow (video), red and white (audio) to the VCR composite IN on the DVD player. Then connect the composite out from the DVD player to the TV. You will need an extra RCA composite cable. If you need one, they can be found in most stores. (try an online shop that specializes in cables to avoid an outrageous price). The VCR In is to the Right of the DVD/VCR Out.

If the incoming cable is only available with a coax connection, you will need a set top box and a coax splitter. Connect the incoming coax to the input of the splitter. Then connect one coax cable to the TV antenna/cable in. Connect the other to the set top box and then connect the composite output of the set top box to the VCR composite IN.

The manual and the quick start guide are available as PDFs here: http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?slg=en&scy=us&ctn=DVP3345VB/F7 . For diagrams of the connection to a cable or other set top box see the FAQs on the right hand side of the page.

If your cable box has some other output, you will need an appropriate converter to go from component to composite video for example.

I hope this helps.

Would like to record from my tv to my magnavox dvd/vcr combo box

If I understand your request right, You do not have cable or satellite box.
You can not record from your TV. You use the TV as a monitor from the dvd/vcr combo box. What the box receives is what shows on the TV. So you will have to have a digital convertor hooked to the (antenna in) dvd/vcr combo box, (antenna out to the tv antenna in) Depending on the antenna you are using that is on the other end of your cable-in coax connection this will hook to your antenna in on the digital convertor box. If your cable is hooked up and operating correctly and directly to the tv that is digital ready you probabbly have a good picture. When the vhf/uhf signal was transmitted you could go from the dvd/vcr to the tv with no problem. But now that the signal is digital and the tv is set for digital the dvd/vcr will not pass a digital signal to the tv. Best suggestion, you have to get a digital dvd/vcr receiver. If you have more question please contact me.

have this model..was trying to hook it up to a directv hughes receiver. After a day of trying and many curse words I found that using thishookup works . Hook up your satellite connection to you tv asusual...Now plug rca cables(red, yellow white) into the corresponding holes on the BACK of the Directvreceiver ..now plug the rca cables into the FRONT of the Magnavoxplayer...you will only use find holes for the white and yellow(that'sok) Now hook up up the dvd player2.gifto the tv using the rca connection back of dvd/vcr player..or if yourtv only has a coax connection you will need a rf modulator available atwalmart etc. You will run the dvd/vcr on L2. The key is the connectionsto the FRONT of the dvd/vcr player..I hope this helps..:)

What kind of cords do you need to hook-up to a tv??

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, the A/V cable would be readily available from most electronics supply store, Audio/Video/TV stores, MP3 and even computer shops/stores. The cable would be as shown below:
3d1929b.jpg
Alternately, you can connect the RF OUT of a VCR to this RF/ANT/Cable IN of the TV, set the TV to Channel 3. An RG59 patch cable would do the job. Should you want to connect a DVD, connect the Video/Audio OUTPUT of the DVD to the Video/Audio INPUT of the VCR. Incidentally, the regular cable/ant should be connected to the RF IN of the VCR.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

I have a samsung dvd vcr combo connected to a jvc tv but when i have press play i get no screen for either video or dvd the dvd runs but no recpetion

If you are connecting the dvd/vcr combo to the tv with coax cable first make sure the tv is on channel 3 and also make sure you have the samsung dvd/vcr combo on channel 3 by using the remote that came with the samsung. You should get picture and sound then if not try channel 4 on tv instead of channel 3. If that doesn't work try to put the samsung on channel 4 as a last option to try. This is only recommended if the combo is hooked to tv with coax cable out of combo to in on tv. Make sure coax is plugged into the out jack on combo and in on tv.

Hooking up a dvd/vcr player

The easiest way to connect the unit is via coax. You can come out of your satellite receiver via the "Out to TV" on the back of the receiver to the "In from Ant" on your DVD/VCR combo. You can then connect another coax from the "Out to TV" on the DVD/VCR combo to the "Ant/Cable" input on the back of you TV. Make sure the satellite receiver and the vcr are both modulated to the same channel, normally channel 3.

Hook up vcr

yes, you need to use an Audio/Video cable (red, white, yellow) to hook to the TV. I've never seen a VCR that doesn't have coax connectors for the antenna input and TV ouput, but maybe the new ones are starting to leave that out. Normally, you run the antenna or cable coax into the VCR's input, then run another coax from the VCR output to the TV's input (or use an A/V cable)

I can't hook it back up

Is your DVD player a DVD/VCR combo? If so, hook the "tv out" (sometimes called "ant out" ) to the "ant in" on the DVD/VCR, then hook the "ant out" of the DVD/VCR to the "ant in" on the tv. Then make sure the DVD/VCR and TV are on the appropriate channel (3 or 4).
If it's NOT a combo, or these instructions don't work for you, i will need pictures of the inputs/outputs of the devices.

Samsung CXD2512 TV/VCR Combo...Cannot hook up DVD player

We also don't have a remote. We hooked a DVD/VCR combo to the Samsung combo by attaching the cable from the cable line to the DVD player and an additional cable from DVD to TV and it used to work but after we lost the control, the DVD can only be listened to but not seen. The VHS from the DVD player works perfectly though.

When we had the remote (before connecting the other combo) we used line-in to see a DVD or VHS using the yellow red and white cables from the Samsung to the other player.
